Patent number: 11958213Abstract: A tile saw includes a saw with a cutting blade, a frame supporting the saw, a table supporting a workpiece and being slidable relative to the frame, and a rear fence secured to the table. The rear fence has an engagement surface and is adjustable between an operating position and a bypassed position. The bypassed position includes the engagement surface of the fence being no higher than even with the planar surface of the table to allow a workpiece to extend beyond a rear edge of the table. In the operating position, the engagement surface of the rear fence projects axially from the planar surface of the table to support the workpiece as the workpiece is pushed into the cutting blade during operation. The fence can be adjusted between the operating and bypassed positions by using any one of a cam lever clamp, pin and guideway, or rotatable latch.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2019Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: TECHTRONIC CORDLESS GPInventors: Nicholas Costanzo, Michael Hart, Eric M. Publication number: 20220398718Abstract: The current disclosure provides methods and systems for rapidly and consistently determining medical image quality metrics following acquisition of a diagnostic medical image. In one embodiment, the current disclosure teaches a method for determining an image quality metric by, acquiring a medical image of an anatomical region, mapping the medical image to a positional attribute of an anatomical feature using a trained deep neural network, determining an image quality metric based on the positional attribute of the anatomical feature, determining if the image quality metric satisfies an image quality criterion, and displaying the medical image, the image quality metric, and a status of the image quality criterion via a display device. In this way, a diagnostic scanning procedure may be expedited by providing technicians with real-time insight into quantitative image quality metrics.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2021Publication date: December 15, 2022Inventors: Gireesha Chinthamani Rao, Alec Joseph Baenen, Katelyn Rose Nye, Prabhu Rajasekaran, Scott Schubert, Raghu Prasad, Keval Harishabhai Jagatiya, Aishwarya Seth, Eric Hart, Adam Pluim

Patent number: 9660947Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates filtering undesirable content based on anti-tags. During operation, the system receives items of content. Next, the system receives an anti-tag, wherein an anti-tag describes content that a user has elected not to receive. The system then analyzes the items of content to identify one-or-more undesirable items of content that satisfy the anti-tag. Next, the system filters the one-or-more undesirable items of content from the items of content. Finally, the system presents the filtered items of content to the user.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2012Date of Patent: May 23, 2017Assignee: INTUIT INC.Inventor: Matt Eric Hart

Patent number: 8619022Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates updating a task-management system by manipulating physical objects. During operation, the system receives a notification at a computer system indicating that a physical icon (phycon) has been moved to a first physical location, wherein a phycon is a physical object that is associated with an element or an attribute of a task-management system. Next, the system identifies an element of the task-management system that is associated with the phycon. The system then identifies an attribute of the task-management system that is associated with the first physical location. Finally, the system applies the attribute to the element in the task-management system.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2009Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: Intuit Inc.Inventor: Matt Eric Hart

Patent number: 8277320Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for facilitating a game that operates within a social-networking application. During operation, the system receives a request from a user to participate in a game that is running within the social-networking application, wherein the request is received at the game. Next, in response to the request, the system adds the user to the game. The system then receives a notification at the game that the user has performed an action within the social network. Next, in response to the notification, the system determines a point value assigned to the action. Finally, the system increments a score associated with the user by the point value.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2008Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Intuit Inc.Inventors: Matt Eric Hart, Kira Wampler, Mark F. Publication number: 20120190301Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for interacting with a stationary computing device. During operation, the system detects a proximity of a user of the portable electronic device to a stationary computing device. Next, the system uses the proximity to obtain identity data associated with at least one of the user and the portable electronic device. The system then uses the identity data to establish a connection with the portable electronic device. Finally, the system performs one or more tasks for the user on the stationary computing device based on a set of motion-based commands from the portable electronic device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2011Publication date: July 26, 2012Applicant: INTUIT INC.Inventor: Matt Eric Hart

Publication number: 20110106701Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for performing voice-based credit card processing. During operation, the system receives voice input from a merchant at a computer via a telephone to initiate a credit card transaction. Next, the system authenticates the merchant. After authenticating the merchant, the system prompts the merchant for a credit card number. Next, the system authenticates a consumer associated with the credit card. Note that the system can authenticate the consumer with pre-registered information that is associated with the credit card. Once the consumer is authenticated, the system prompts the merchant for a transaction amount. Next, the system receives the transaction amount from the merchant. The system then authorizes the credit card transaction for the transaction amount. Finally, the system reports the result of the authorization to the merchant.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2009Publication date: May 5, 2011Applicant: INTUIT INC.Inventors: Sridhar Jagannathan, Matt Eric Hart

Publication number: 20050260422Abstract: A wood product is made from treating wood with two solutions, in series, including a penetrating solution and a topcoat composition. The penetrating solution is made up of boric acid, a metallocene catalyst, a free radical initiator, a first film-forming polymer and an adhesion promoter. The topcoat includes a second continuous film-forming polymer. Application of the penetrating solution to the wood gets the solution into the wood to cross-link boric acid with cellulose fibers, then the topcoat forms the continuous film. The topcoat seals in the penetrating solution so that it does not leach out during subsequent exposure to water and weather, allowing soluble salts such as borax to migrate and infiltrate deeper into the wood. Microbiological growth is prevented by several mechanisms.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2003Publication date: November 24, 2005Inventors: Eric Hart, Mark Brown

Publication number: 20040210474Abstract: User-configurable drive-thru timing system that monitors performance and generates real-time messages and reports in real-time. System monitors vehicles in a drive-thru and the displays to drive-thru employees user-configurable text and information, such as user-selected timing information or whether employees are meeting, or failing to meet, user-defined goals. Positive reinforcement that goals are being met encourages employees to provide fast and courteous drive-thru service. System allows the generation of reports in real-time, where the reports provide detailed information regarding the service provided to each vehicle. The system also communicates with other business computer components, such as POS terminals, which allows such systems to provide enhanced features relating to drive-thru service.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2003Publication date: October 21, 2004Inventors: Charles Eric Hart, Johnny Hoyt Nix
