The method includes loading onto a computer system or a computer readable medium data representing at least a portion of the living space. The method further includes selecting from a data storage device or the computer readable medium data representing at least one heating appliance from a group of heating appliance simulations. The method also includes combining the data representing the at least one heating appliance with the data representing the at least a portion of the living space to generate data representing a simulated living space with the at least one heating appliance received therein.

In one embodiment of the disclosure, the cooking assembly can comprise a main body portion defining a cooking area and an adjustable burner assembly configured to provide heat to at least a portion of the cooking area. The adjustable burner assembly being positionable between a first cooking modality and a second cooking modality. The first cooking modality can provide a source of indirect heating to at least a portion of the cooking area. Conversely, the second cooking modality can provide a source of direct heating to at least a portion of the cooking area.

Abstract: A fireplace vent of the direct-vent type comprises two telescoping sections each having outer air intake housings and inner exhaust housings. One section has an adapter configured to communicate with a standard round concentric vent pipe of a fireplace. The other section has a termination cap. A pair of heat shields are disposed in spaced parallel relationship over the outer intake housing of each section. The vent can be installed horizontally on the fireplace to vent the fireplace through a wall with a minimum of height of an associated window or shelving unit above the fireplace. The adjustable telescoping configuration of the two vent sections also allows for ease in installation by avoiding the need to cut the vent to proper length.

Abstract: A gas-fired fireplace comprises an enclosure having a forwardly facing glass panel. The panel is pivotably secured to the enclosure along a lower edge of the panel. The upper edge of the panel is normally spring biased against the enclosure by a latch mechanism. By this arrangement an explosion within the fireplace combustion chamber will cause the panel to pivotably open and relieve the pressure within the chamber. The panel can also be readily removed without tools if it is necessary to gain access to the inside of the fireplace.

Abstract: A fireplace assembly of the type used as a room air heater comprises a second pane of glass in front of and spaced from the glass pane forming the front of the combustion chamber. The two panes form an air passageway for delivering intake air from an upper vent to the bottom of the combustion chamber. The intake air cools the panes of glass such that a relatively inexpensive glass material can be used and such that the front of the fireplace assembly is relatively cool to the touch.

Abstract: A burner pan comprises a large top plate conforming to the entire burner area for providing convenient support for the logs and wide flexibility in the configuration and location of the gas flame ports. The burner pan comprises a plurality of gas ports disposed along the outer periphery of the top plate, a burner plenum subjacently disposed along the outer periphery of the top plate for delivering gas to the gas ports, and a dead air space in the center of the burner pan. The burner plenum is formed between a shallow gas-tight outer housing shell which defines the outer peripheral walls of the burner plenum and a smaller inner shell adapted to fit within the outer shell which defines the inner peripheral walls of the burner plenum and circumscribes a substantially sealed central dead air space which is essentially free from the burner gas.
