    Abstract: Techniques to remotely configure interface settings for messaging clients are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a messaging component operative to receive a user interface configuration object at a first messaging client on the first client device, the first messaging client on the first client device associated with a first user account with a messaging system, the user interface configuration object indicating a user interface setting specified at a second messaging client on a second client device, the second messaging client on the second client device associated with a second user account with the messaging system; and a user interface component operative to store the user interface setting in association with a message thread associated with the first user account and the second user account; and display a message thread interface for the message thread based on the user interface setting. An API library is used to integrate the online electronic wallet system with a registered merchant's purchase flow, including the ability to ensure receipt of an electronic receipt prior to communicating payment instrument information to a merchant server.

    Abstract: Activation of a link or control button on a user interface before an underlying application status is known. A user requests access to a merchant system's webpage. The merchant system webpage loads and a link is activated. The merchant system begins to determine the user's account status with the remote system while the web page is loading or at any time thereafter. The user initiates a request by clicking, pressing, or otherwise selecting the link on the merchant system's webpage. The merchant system determines whether the user's account status with the remote system is known. If the account status is not known, the merchant system completes the determination. If the account status is known, the merchant system determines whether the action request is available. If the action is available, the request is processed. If the action is not available, the user is notified and the link is disabled.

    Abstract: A system and method for automatically estimating the optimized cost of a part during the course of design of the part on a computer-aided design (CAD) system by a designer. The method includes extracting parametric features of a current design from the CAD system. Manufacturing cost drivers are identified on the basis of the parametric features. The manufacturing cost drivers are translated into costs using process models. The costs are simultaneously optimized with respect to a plurality of operations within specified machine constraints using an algorithm with dynamically linked structures to obtain estimates of optimized costs and cost reasoning. An estimate of optimized costs and cost reasoning is fed back to the designer as an output display on an output device.
