  • Patent number: 4966479
Abstract: The invention contemplates a swivel cosmetic container of propel/repel variety wherein metering action is achieved by plural resilient detent engagements which are readily sensed as multiple equal subdivisions of each single revolution of the parts exposed for manipulated relative rotation. And a single elastomeric seal ring establishes hermetic sealing of container contents as well as detent retention of an applied closure cap.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 4, 1989
Date of Patent: October 30, 1990
    Assignee: Risdon Corporation
Inventors: Eric J. Idec, Edward F. Klimeck
  • Patent number: 4690578
Abstract: The invention contemplates a cosmetic-container of the propel-repel variety wherein all parts are assembled and retained by interference-fit and wherein metal-to-plastic interfaces characterize essentially all siding engagements. The arrangement is such as to provide a luxury "feel" through controlled drag torque (resistance) to relative rotation of the parts. And provision is made to positively retain any retracted position of the pomade carrier, whatever the remaining useful extent of involved pomade.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 1986
Date of Patent: September 1, 1987
    Assignee: Risdon Corporation
Inventors: Eric J. Idec, Thomas F. Holloway
  • Patent number: 4323157
Abstract: The invention contemplates a modified propel-repel cosmetic-container construction wherein bottom-filling of the container is made possible via filler-tube access ports in the base end of the container and in the pomade-support platform of the pomade-carrier. Carrier propulsion is via slot and internal-thread cams on the respective inner and outer rotatable tubular members of the container, and the arrangement is such that for the lowermost position of the carrier, the upper end of the carrier laps and, therefore, seals off the upper end of the cam slot.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 17, 1980
Date of Patent: April 6, 1982
    Assignee: Eyelet Specialty Co., Inc.
    Inventor: Eric J. Idec
  • Patent number: 4208144
Abstract: The invention contemplates a propel-repel container for cosmetic or the like substance wherein the color of the substance may be externally viewable at a location near the point of cosmetic-substance support, without requiring the container to be opened or the substance to be propelled from its retracted position within the container.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 3, 1979
Date of Patent: June 17, 1980
    Assignee: Eyelet Specialty Co., Inc.
Inventors: Eric J. Idec, Edward F. Klimeck, Eric A. Hultgren
  • Patent number: 4166474
Abstract: A propel-repel swivel cosmetic container features basic lead-screw and nut parts, each of which is a single injection-molded piece of plastic material with certain further integral formations such that a variety of aesthetically satisfying overall appearances is available upon assembly to particular tubular further parts, thereby providing a variety of different-appearing cosmetic containers utilizing in common the same basic lead-screw and nut propulsion mechanism.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 8, 1977
Date of Patent: September 4, 1979
    Assignee: Eyelet Specialty Co., Inc.
Inventors: James M. McArdle, Eric J. Idec, Francis G. Marshall
  • Patent number: 3951157
Abstract: The invention contemplates an improved container and applicator for metered loading of the applicator upon each removal thereof from the container. In specific application to dispensing of powdered cosmetic, a central metering tube extends from the container-neck opening and into the interior of the container. The lower end of the tube has plural openings for limited passage of container contents, and the dauber end of a removable applicator wipes the tube at the region of its openings, in the course of applicator removal and replacement.
