  • Patent number: 10321542
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a lighting system configured to obtain an indicator data of a RF spectrum signal generated at a number of times in an area. At each respective one of the number of times, apply one of a plurality of heurist algorithm coefficients to each indicator data from a receiver for the respective time, based on results of the applications of the coefficients to indicator data, generate an indicator data metric value for each of the indicator data for the respective time, and process the indicator data metric values to compute an output value. The lighting system is further configured to compare the output value at each of the plurality of times with a threshold to detect one of an occupancy condition or a non-occupancy condition in the area and control the light source in response to the detected one of the occupancy condition or the non-occupancy condition in the area at each of the number of times.

  • Patent number: 9411553
Abstract: An operating system of a device receives, from an application executing on that device, data that identifies a category of hardware resources that the application needs to use in order to function. That category is mapped to a specified set of hardware resources of the device. The operating system also receives, from the application, data that identifies a mode. The mode corresponds to an intended use of a set of hardware resources and is mapped to a group of hardware resource settings that are consistent with the intended use. The operating system allocates, to the application, a particular set of hardware resources that are mapped to the category. The operating system configures one or more hardware resources in the particular set of hardware resources in conformity with a particular group of settings that are mapped to the mode.

  • Publication number: 20140224404
Abstract: A conduit, such as an introducer sheath, catheter, or guide catheter, incorporating two or more separate lumens to prevent the entanglement of guidewires located at least partially within the conduit. The lumens are separated by at least one disruptable barrier that allows multiple lumens to be converted into fewer lumens prior to or as a device is advanced through the introducer sheath.

  • Patent number: 7669960
Abstract: A technique for servicing an inkjet printhead on an inkjet printer including a first service module. The technique includes identifying a printhead-related service condition not adequately addressed by servicing the printer with the first service module, providing a second service module different from the first service module and adapted to address the printhead-related service condition. A set of instructions can be provided for using the second service module with the inkjet printer. The technique can further include removing the first service module from the printer, installing the second service module in the printer, and using the set of instructions, conducting a special printer servicing operation. After completion of the special printer servicing operation, the second service module can be removed from the printer, and the first service module reinstalled in the printer in place of the second service module.

  • Patent number: 6464327
Abstract: A replaceable inkjet printhead cleaner service station system has separate replaceable cleaning units for each printhead in an inkjet printing mechanism, which has a pallet that moves the cleaning units translationally to service the printheads. Each cleaning unit has a printhead wiper, a printhead snout wiper, a capping system, a spittoon, and optionally, an ink solvent application system. The snout wiper cleans ink residue from a non-ink-ejecting snout portion of an inkjet printhead cartridge installed in the printing mechanism. The snout wiper has a base which moves between a rest position and a wiping position. A wiper is supported by the base to wipe ink residue from the non-ink-ejecting snout portion of the cartridge through motion of the cartridge while the base remains stationary at the wiping position. A method is provided for cleaning an inkjet printhead, along with an inkjet printing mechanism employing such a snout wiping system.

Each cleaning unit has a printhead wiper, a printhead snout wiper, a capping system, a spittoon, and optionally, an ink solvent application system. A sled has a cam follower that rides along the cam surface, with the sled supporting a cap lip. An activation wall extends from the sled to engage the printhead and move the sled along the cam surface to the sealing position through linear motion of the pallet while the printhead remains stationary. A method is provided for sealing an inkjet printhead, along with a printing mechanism employing such a capping system.

  • Patent number: 5886718
Abstract: An off-axis ink delivery system for an ink-jet hard copy apparatus includes a multifunctional ink pump and flow switch device. A semipermanent, negative pressure, pen and printhead has a fluidic coupling to a static, refillable or replaceable, off-axis, ink reservoir via the ink pump and flow switch device.. The pen's mechanism for creating the negative pressure operational condition is used to pull ink from the reservoir when the ink pump and flow switch device is in an "open" position. Negative pressure reset, nozzle priming, pen air purging functions are also provided by the same ink pump and flow switch device. A system for each color ink is employed in the hard copy apparatus.
