  • Publication number: 20200164306
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dehydration composition and method of use thereof for drying gas streams, in particular natural gas streams, wherein the dehydration composition comprises a (a) glycol and (b) an additive selected so as to increase the viscosity, surface tension, and/or specific gravity of the dehydration composition. Said dehydration composition and method results in the reduction of solvent loss during the dehydration step in a gas dehydration unit.

  • Publication number: 20170183587
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dehydration composition and method of use thereof for drying gas streams, in particular natural gas streams, wherein the dehydration composition comprises one or more polyhydric alcohol. Said polyhydric alcohol preferably has a hydroxyl content equal to or greater than 31 percent and equal to or less than 75 percent of the formula weight of the compound. Said polyhydric alcohol dehydration compositions are particularly suitable for dewatering and desalting gas stream comprising water and one or more salt.

  • Publication number: 20140345458
Abstract: The present invention provides strategies for reducing the nitrosamine content of amine compositions that are contaminated with one or more nitrosamines. The present invention is based apart upon the appreciation that irradiating contaminated amine compositions with a suitable fluence of electromagnetic energy, such as ultraviolet energy, is able to selectively decompose the nitrosamine content relative to the amine content. This allows the amine content of the treated compositions to be preserved. As a consequence, the principles of the present invention are particularly useful for regenerating amine absorbents. Reducing the nitrosamine content so easily also facilitates disposal, further processing, or other desired handling of amine compositions.
