  • Patent number: 10175770
Abstract: Method and apparatus for proactive IME switching are provided. Embodiments receive a first input using a first input method editor (IME) of a plurality of IMEs. A first string corresponding to the first input is determined using the first IME. Upon receiving an indication that the first string is incorrect, a second IME of the plurality of IMEs is selected based on a mapping between a context of the first input and the second IME, wherein the context of the first input comprises: a first application that the first input was intended for; the first input; and a series of strings determined just before receiving the first input. Finally, a second string for a second input is determined using the second IME.

  • Patent number: 10091344
Abstract: An approach is provided that executes on a mobile device with a touch-enabled display screen. The approach receives, from a user of the mobile device, a gesture entered on the touch-enabled display screen with the gesture being entered using an input instrument, such as a finger or thumb, operated by the user. In response to receiving the gesture, the approach identifies the application that is currently being displayed, predicts an intent of the user based on past user actions received during previous executions of the application. The predicted intent predicts the element displayed on the screen that is desired by the user. The approach also creates a cloned copy of the current application display and provides a virtual target window by displaying the cloned copy on the touch-enabled display screen in a position that makes the predicted element accessible to the input instrument operated by the user.

  • Patent number: 10045252
Abstract: At an application executing in conjunction with a vSwitch a determination is made that a first flow from a first VM is experiencing congestion. The first flow is selected for throttling. a second flow is also selected for throttling, the second flow using a portion of a network path used by the first flow in a data network. At the application, a total CWND adjustment is distributed between the first flow and the second flow. A first CWND value associated with the first flow is adjusted by a first portion of the total CWND window, and a second CWND value associated with the second flow is adjusted by a second portion of the total CWND window.

  • Patent number: 10044798
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to offloading computing tasks from a user device to a cloud service. In one embodiment, a method generally includes generating, based on user input, a command for processing by the cloud service. The user device ranks the user device and one or more peer devices in a network based on at least one of information about the user device and one or more peer devices and information about the generated command from the user device and the peer devices, and the user device selects one or more of the user device and the peer devices to transmit the command based on the ranking information. Upon determining that the user device is one of the selected devices, the user device transmits the command to the cloud service. If the user device is not one of the selected devices, the user device discards the generated command.
