Publication number: 20250117010Abstract: A method or system for managing autonomous vehicle operations includes receiving inputs including a task command for an autonomous mobile machine, determining an expected travel trajectory for the autonomous mobile machine to perform the task command, and determining an actual travel trajectory of the mobile machine during performance of the task command. The method or system further includes comparing the actual travel trajectory to the expected travel trajectory, and identifying an incident limiting factor responsible for a deviation between the actual travel trajectory and the expected travel, wherein comparing the actual travel trajectory is repeated at predetermined intervals during performance of the task command.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 4, 2023Publication date: April 10, 2025Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Eric J. SCHULTZ, Philip WALLSTEDT

Patent number: 11948657Abstract: Sense amplifier layout designs and related apparatuses and methods. An apparatus includes a cross-coupled pair of pull-up transistors of a sense amplifier, a cross-coupled pair of pull-down transistors of the sense amplifier, and a pair of conductive lines electrically connecting the cross-coupled pair of pull-up transistors to the cross-coupled pair of pull-down transistors. The apparatus also includes a sense amplifier control transistors sharing a continuous active material with one of the cross-coupled pair of pull-up transistors or the cross-coupled pair of pull-down transistors. A method includes asserting a shared control gate terminal of sense amplifier control transistors sharing a continuous active material with the cross-coupled pair of pull-down transistors, applying a pre-charge voltage potential to the pair of conductive lines, electrically connecting memory cells to the pre-charged pair of bit lines, and amplifying electrical charges delivered to the pair of bit lines by the memory cells.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2021Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: Micron Technology, Inc.Inventors: Christopher G. Wieduwilt, Eric J. Schultz

Patent number: 8020659Abstract: A hydrostatically driven vehicle has an engine operating a variable displacement propel pump, a displacement of which can vary based on an angle of a rotating swashplate, such that a fluid flow impelled by the pump transfers power to at least one propel motor rotating a wheel of the vehicle. An electronic controller of the vehicle senses an operating parameter of the system, for example, the angle of the rotating swashplate or the direction and speed of rotation of the propel motor with a sensor to yield an actual signal, and relays the actual signal to an electronic controller. The controller determines a desired angle for the rotating swashplate based on the control signal, and compares it to the actual signal from the sensor. Motion of the vehicle is stalled when the angle signal differs from the desired angle by a predetermined extent and for a predetermined period.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2007Date of Patent: September 20, 2011Assignee: Caterpillar Paving Products Inc.Inventors: Eric J Schultz, John Marsolek, Corwin E. Storer

Patent number: 7067201Abstract: A method of reducing stress and wear on one or more components in a keel joint assembly in which a cobalt-based, wear resistant alloy coating is applied to the surfaces of one or more components. The use of the coating reduces stress and wear and achieves improved corrosion, galling, erosion and abrasion resistance as compared to other currently known and applied methods. In the present invention, the coating would preferably would be applied to the surfaces of the mating components of the keel joint.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2004Date of Patent: June 27, 2006Assignee: Vetco Gray Inc.Inventors: Fife B. Ellis, Kim H. Phan, Eric J. Schultz
