Abstract: Embodiments of site surveillance system for remote monitoring on portable devices are described. In one aspect, a system includes a data capture module, a communication module, and a surveillance server module. The data capture module is configured to capture images or sounds and generate electronic signals representative of the captured images or sounds. The communication module is configured to establish wireless communication with a portable device. The surveillance server module is communicatively coupled to the data capture module and the communication module, and is configured to receive the electronic signals as surveillance data from the data capture module, receive a request from the portable device via the communication module, and cause the surveillance data to be presented to a user by the portable device in response to the request from the portable device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing information stored in a networking device responsive to communication requests from a client. In one embodiment, a method may include receiving communication requests from a client at a networking device, and providing information stored in the networking device to the client responsive to the communication requests from the client. In another embodiment, an apparatus may include a networking device operable to communicate with a plurality of clients and to provide information stored in the networking device to the plurality of clients responsive to communication requests from the plurality of clients.
