Patent number: 12624826Abstract: An adaptive optical obfuscation system is disclosed and configured for blocking electronic detection and providing visual concealment for at least one object relative to at least one image sensor. In at least one embodiment, at least one obfuscation device is positioned between the at least one object and the at least one image sensor. The at least one obfuscation device provides at least one light emitter that emits a light emission at a wavelength that creates a controlled optical interference field preventing the at least one image sensor from accurately capturing an image of the at least one object. A microcontroller is in electrical communication with the at least one light emitter for controlling the at least one light emitter, and a power source is in electrical communication with each of the at least one light emitter and microcontroller.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2025Date of Patent: May 12, 2026Inventors: Eric Jeffery, Dennis Roark

Patent number: 12334079Abstract: A computer captures a voice of a user. The computer determines a frequency spectrum and a voice pattern of the voice. The computer identifies one or more topics of the voice by transcribing the voice by a natural language processing. The computer identifies the user based on matching the frequency spectrum of the voice to the frequency spectrum of the conversation and the pattern of the voice to the pattern of the conversation when a conversation is intercepted and determines a trust score based on comparing the one or more topics to the one or more topics extracted from the conversation.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2021Date of Patent: June 17, 2025Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Aaron K. Patent number: 11665278Abstract: A method, computer system, and a computer program product for filtering a phone call are provided. An incoming phone call to a phone is detected. Call metadata from the incoming phone call is received. The call metadata is compared to entries of a learned relationship filter. The entries of the learned relationship filter are obtained by monitoring behavior of a phone user on the phone during previous calls to the phone and application usage on the phone so that learned relationships to the phone user are identified and saved. The learned relationship filter provides a filtering response. The filtering response is performed to the incoming phone call.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2021Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Gregory M. J. H. Tkaczyk, Eric Jeffery, Shikhar Kwatra

Patent number: 11321487Abstract: An approach is provided for obscuring an individual likeness in a digital image based on a privacy policy. The approach identifies an individual whose likeness appears in a digital image taken by a digital camera with the digital image being stored. A determination is made, based on a privacy policy pertaining to the identified individual, whether to obscure the first individual's likeness in the digital image. Responsive to the determination being positive, the approach obscures the individual's likeness as it appears in the digital image.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2019Date of Patent: May 3, 2022Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Shikhar Kwatra, Adam Lee Griffin, Eric Jeffery, Mariya Ali

Publication number: 20160169056Abstract: A process for repairing a section of a rotatable shaft is disclosed. The section of the rotatable shaft has a surface portion having a surface parallel to an axis of rotation of the rotatable shaft and axial ends perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the rotatable shaft. The process includes preparing a well region extending over a perimeter of the section and extending downward in the surface portion, depositing material into the well region to fill the well region using a welding process and displacing a portion of the material that was deposited in the well region. The well region has a bottom portion that is substantially parallel to the axis of rotation and includes opposing sidewalls. Each sidewall extends proximate to the axial ends of the rotatable shaft and directly adjoins a remaining portion of the surface portion.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2014Publication date: June 16, 2016Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Kegan Luick, Jeffery Stark, Larry Bright, Daniel Cavanaugh, Eric Jeffery
