  • Publication number: 20090186313
Abstract: Metallic devices are frequently used in dental treatments, such as orthodontic archwires, rackets, or dental mini-screws. This invention provides metallic dental devices with a color of tooth or close to tooth, and their preparation methods.

  • Patent number: 6341956
Abstract: An orthodontic dental distractor was invented for rapid orthodontic tooth movement and leveling treatment. The molars at two side of patients teeth are mounted respectively with a barrel band which fastens to a steel wire which in turn engages with the brackets adhered to the front teeth like a conventional orthodontic treatment does. However the dental distractor further includes a front joint member which has a holding member to engages with one end of the steel wire, a rear joint member which has a hook to engage with the barrel band and a screw bar which engage with the front end and rear joint member. Turning the screw bar, the front joint member will be moved toward the rear joint member for pulling or pushing the bracket, consequently moving the front teeth toward or away from the molar for leveling the teeth.

  • Patent number: 6334771
Abstract: A rapid palatal expander for stretching a patient's upper jaw bone sideward horizontally and forward to accommodate front teeth. It has a dual-joint jack screw with two rocker arms having respectively one end pivotally engaged with two spaced fulcrums and another end engageable with a screw bar. Turning the screw bar will move the rocker arm moving outward to push upper barrel bands mounted on the molar and premolar horizontal outward to expand the upper jaw bone. There is an elastic means with two ends engaged with the upper and lower barrel bands mounted respectively on the upper and lower molar and premolar. When patient's mouth is closed, the elastic means will be compressed to produce a horizontal force to push the upper barrel band forward. Thus the upper jaw bone and the teeth may also receive a constant forward pushing force for expanding purpose.

  • Patent number: 6273713
Abstract: A palatal adjusting device includes an elastic means which has two arms in different directions engageable respectively with an upper barrel band and a lower barrel band mounted respectively on an upper molar and a lower molar. When a patient's mouth is closed, the elastic means will be compressed to produce an upward force or a forward force to push the upper jaw bone upward or forward for the upper teeth to have proper occlusal contact with the lower teeth.

  • Patent number: 6217323
Abstract: An orthodontic dental distractor for rapid orthodontic tooth movement into a fresh extraction socket. The device includes a screw bar and a screw nut fixedly engaged with one end of the screw bar, a first joint engageable with one end of the screw bar next to the screw nut and a first hook engageable with a canine band mounted on a canine. A second joint is engageable with another end of the screw bar and has a second hook engageable with a molar band mounted on a molar. By turning the screw nut, the screw bar will move the first joint towards the second joint, thus moving the canine rearward toward the molar.

  • Patent number: 5873715
Abstract: An orthodontic dental distractor was invented for rapid orthodontic tooth movement into a fresh extraction socket. It is derived from the concept of distraction osteogenesis. The device includes a distractor head, a movable joint and a screw. The distractor head has one end engageable with a molar band mounted on a molar and another end connecting with a sliding bar on which a screw seat is fixedly mounted. The movable joint is engageable with a canine band mounted on the canine. The screw has a screw head and is engageable with the screw seat and the movable joint. By turning the screw head, the screw can drive the movable joint moving toward the screw seat and consequently moving tooth rapidly.
