  • Patent number: 9714892
Abstract: To simulate various rolling and sliding conditions, a wear testing machine can include a load roller arrangement having at least a first load roller, a second load roller, and a third load roller arranged in a triangular layout. A test roller can be disposed between and in simultaneous contact with the first, second, and third load rollers along at least three points of contact. The load rollers and the test roller can be configured to rotate with respect to each other at a same rotational speed or at different rotational speeds. In an embodiment, the wear testing machine can introduce lubricant to the points of contact between the three load rollers and the test roller.

  • Patent number: 9296500
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for selectively accessing a portion of a sterile cryopreserved sample are disclosed. The apparatus may include a container configured to receive the cryopreserved sample and having a first portion and a second portion, a heat sink chamber surrounding the first portion of the container, and a heat source adjacent to the second portion of the container. The chamber may be configured to maintain a non-accessed portion of the sample in a cryopreserved state. The heat source may be configured to separating an accessed portion of the sample from the non-accessed portion of the sample while maintaining the viability of the accessed portion while the non-accessed portion is maintained in the cryopreserved state.

  • Patent number: 9003663
Abstract: A method and system for processing a bearing component to extend its useful life include using the component in the bearing assembly for a portion of its initial useful life and then removing the component from the bearing assembly. The surface of the removed component is subjected to isotropic finishing, after which a protective wear coating is applied to the surface of the component. Once processed, the used bearing component is reinstalled for use.
