Abstract: A blaster for shooting projectiles that includes a housing that defines a housing interior, and a variable velocity barrel assembly positioned in the housing interior. The variable velocity barrel assembly includes a barrel that defines a barrel axis and a barrel interior. The barrel includes an exit opening at a distal end thereof. At least a first opening communicates the barrel interior with an exterior of the barrel. The first opening is defined through a side wall of the barrel. A slider member that includes a cylindrical portion that surrounds the barrel is movable axially along the barrel between a maximum velocity position where the cylindrical portion covers the first opening and a minimum velocity position where the slider member does not cover the first opening.

Abstract: The invention relates to a mixer for an exhaust gas system for mixing an additive into an exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine, having a first shell and at least a second shell which are arranged successively in the circumferential direction in relation to a center axis, each shell having at least two shell edges that are arranged offset in the circumferential direction and which each form a flow edge, wherein the flow edges of two circumferentially adjacent shell edges of two different shells delimit an inflow opening, such that at least one pipe end arranged coaxially with the center axis is provided with a circumferential pipe profile that has a nominal radius Rn and is used for connection to an exhaust pipe, the pipe end being formed by the circumferentially adjacent shells.

Abstract: Bias circuits and methods for silicon-based amplifier architectures that are tolerant of supply and bias voltage variations, bias current variations, and transistor stack height, and compensate for poor output resistance characteristics. Embodiments include power amplifiers and low-noise amplifiers that utilize a cascode reference circuit to bias the final stages of a cascode amplifier under the control of a closed loop bias control circuit. The closed loop bias control circuit ensures that the current in the cascode reference circuit is approximately equal to a selected multiple of a known current value by adjusting the gate bias voltage to the final stage of the cascode amplifier. The final current through the cascode amplifier is a multiple of the current in the cascode reference circuit, based on a device scaling factor representing the relative sizes of the transistor devices in the cascode amplifier and in the cascode reference circuit.

Abstract: A device for the holding and compression of the fragments of a fractured bone, the device including a screw whose tip is pyramidal or conical and whose body is provided, at a distal end thereof, with an outside thread, wherein the head of the screw has a plurality of foldable small wings integral with the body and wherein the screw has a device for folding the small wings. The device is useful particularly for fractures of the scaphoid, of the medial malleolus, Garden fractures 1 and 2 of the neck of the femur, pertrochanterian fractures of the femur, and generally, for fractures of small bones, and for putting in place hip or shoulder stops.
