  • Patent number: 8628418
Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a mobile gaming system is disclosed. The mobile gaming system establishes areas where mobile gaming is prohibited based on authorized elevations. One embodiment of a mobile gaming device used in conjunction with the system comprises an elevation recognition element to identify the elevation at which the device is being used. The mobile gaming device further comprises a comparator programmed with or configured to receive elevations associated with areas of permitted gaming. The elevation identified by the elevation recognition element registers with the comparator and if a comparison determines that the mobile gaming device is at an elevation where gaming is prohibited, a disabling element operates to disable presentation of a wagering game on the mobile gaming device. In one embodiment, the elevation recognition element is an altimeter.

  • Patent number: 7822641
Abstract: A bet detection system which may execute on a computer based processing device is disclosed for use with DID tokens to detect unwanted or unfair betting patterns by players. The system utilizes a table equipped with DID token detection antenna associated with the one or more bet spots for the player positions. DID token antenna may detect DID tokens at the dealer position, other bet spots, or chip trays. A dealer interface allows the dealer to provide the game data to the detection system. The detection system processes the game data and the bet data, such as bet amount for the players. Based on this processing, bet patterns may be generated for the players and in relation to deck penetration information, deviations in bet patterns may be detected and appropriate notification provided.

  • Patent number: 7704144
Abstract: Apparatus, system and methods for ranking tournament players are disclosed. The apparatus includes a RFID tournament detection system coupled to a server. The server is provided with game data as one or more tournaments proceed. According to tournament rules, player activity may result in a player being eliminated. When a player is eliminated, the server or detection system records the time and date coupled to each player's identification and may rank each player on an on-going basis or at the end of the tournament. Players do not need to compete at the same site, but may be ranked according to a player's current status within the tournament as captured by the tournament detection system and recorded by the server, which receives data from each game table participating in the tournament.

  • Publication number: 20090295091
Abstract: A method of playing a casino table game is disclosed. Players and a Dealer each receive five cards each to make a best five-card poker hand. Players must make an Ante wager and may optionally make a bonus wager. After considering the cards, the player must make a Play wager equal to 2× the Ante wager to stay in the game or fold. When the player hand beats the dealer hand, the Play bet wins 1:1. But in order to win the Ante wager, the player hand must qualify with a minimum hand ranking and beat the dealer. When the player hand beats the dealer hand but does not qualify, the Ante wager pushes. When the dealer hand beats the player hand, the Ante and Play wagers are lost. The Bonus wager is resolved according to a pay table including a plurality of predetermined winning hands and corresponding payout odds.
