  • Patent number: 12279981
Abstract: An assembly including a deployment device for deploying a stent device into an aorta of a patient is provided. The deployment device includes a rod translatable within an aorta of a patient and a first release wire configured for releasing one or more radially constraining members, wherein the radially constraining members are configured to constrain a diameter of the stent device. The stent device is at least partially permeable and engaged with the deployment device in an initial configuration, wherein a diameter and a length of the stent device in a deployed configuration can be altered by axial translation of the rod and releasing one or more of the radially constraining members by translation of the first lease wire. A related method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10730046
Abstract: A fluid handling system for applying a plurality of pulses of fluid shear stress to a fluid sample may comprise a first sample chamber; a second sample chamber; a plurality of conduits mounted between and in fluid communication with the first sample chamber and the second sample chamber; and a force delivery system mounted to the first sample chamber and configured to apply a force sufficient to push the fluid sample from the first sample chamber through each of the conduits at a substantially constant flow rate to the second sample chamber. The plurality of conduits may be arranged in series and separated by additional sample chambers or arranged such that the conduits are substantially parallel to one another. The force delivery system may be a gas delivery system or a linear drive assembly.

  • Publication number: 20200146855
Abstract: A method of deploying a stent device into an aorta of a patient includes positioning a distal portion of the stent device at least beyond the left subclavian artery into the descending aorta by axially translating a distal end of a rod of a deployment device into the aorta. The stent device is engaged with the deployment device in an initial configuration about the rod. The axial translation occurs in a direction extending from the aortic arch into the descending aorta. The stent device further includes a stent portion in fluid engagement with the distal portion. The stent portion and the distal portion define an uncovered open cell surface. The stent device further includes a proximal portion in fluid engagement with the stent portion. A collar is defined at a terminal end of the proximal portion.

  • Patent number: 10258340
Abstract: The introducer sheath can be loaded onto a vasoocclusive device after removal of the vasoocclusive device from a microcatheter, to permit the vasoocclusive embolic coil assembly to be used again during a clinical procedure. The sheath includes a hollow, elongated tubular member with a longitudinal slot formed in the upper wall of the elongated tubular member and extending along the length of elongated tubular member. The upper wall of the elongated tubular member adjacent to the slot has an angled configuration to accept the vasoocclusive device. The sheath may include wing members extending outwardly from the angled configuration on the outside surface of the hollow, elongated tubular member to facilitate insertion of the vasoocclusive device into the sheath. The elongated tubular member may also consist of a segment with no slot attached to a flexible pusher member to facilitate initiation of loading of the vasoocclusive device into the sheath.

  • Publication number: 20140142618
Abstract: Embodiments are described for closing vascular access ports, such as arteriotomies, which involve placement and deployment of an expandable device configured to prevent blood flow across a subject arteriotomy while also keeping disturbance of intravascular flow to a minimum. Suitable prostheses may comprise one or more frames constructed from lengths of flexible materials, such as shape memory alloys or polymers. Such frames may be coupled to sheetlike or tube-like structures configured to spread loads, minimize thrombosis which may be related to intravascular flow, and maintain hemostasis.
