Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for kiosk distribution of licensed content to one or more portable devices. The system stores and distributes licensed content in such a manner as to be compatible with the DVD window such that MFN contract provisions are not triggered during the window. Therefore consumers can use the system to purchase additional content or watch content that has been previously purchased without any blackout period as experienced using other content distribution methods such as Internet video streaming or other types of digital download services.
