  • Publication number: 20170322059
Abstract: A flow measuring device for monitoring and measuring the flow of gaseous material, specifically high temperature gas using a low pressure drop measurement system, is provided. The device is adapted to fit within the pipeline of a flow system and may be installed wherever flow measurement is needed. In one embodiment, the device comprises a housing, multiple averaging pitot tubes to determine the total velocity and static pressure measurements, a differential pressure gauge to display the pressure, and a valve or valves to cut off flow as needed. Additionally, the present invention utilizes a means for cooling the temperature of the gas, thus negating the need for very expensive gauges capable of operating under very high temperatures. Overall, the flow measuring device herein provides a more efficient and cost-effective product and method to measure the flow of a liquid or gas, specifically a high temperature gas.

  • Patent number: 7840839
Abstract: A fault-tolerant virtualized computer system comprises a primary host executing a primary virtual machine (VM) and a backup host executing a backup VM. In one embodiment, each VM includes a virtual disk mapped to a shared disk image on physical disk accessible to both hosts. A virtual disk IO request is received by virtualization software executing on the backup host from a backup VM. When the virtual disk IO request is a read request, the virtual disk IO request is mapped to a physical read IO request of a virtual disk image stored on a physical disk, the physical read IO request is issued to the physical disk. However, when the virtual disk IO request is a write request, it is assumed to be completed without mapping the virtual disk IO request or issuing a mapped physical IO request to the physical disk.

  • Publication number: 20050172099
Abstract: Improved techniques and systems for accommodating TLB shootdown events in multi-processor computer systems are disclosed. A memory management unit (MMU) having a TLB miss handler and miss exception handler is provided. The MMU receives instructions relative to a virtual address. A TLB is searched for the virtual address, if the virtual address is not found in the TLB, secondary memory assets are searched for a TTE that corresponds to the virtual address and its associated context identifier. The context identifier is tested to determine if the TTE is available. Where the TTE is available, the TLB and secondary memory assets are updated as necessary and the method initiates memory access instructions. Where the TTE is unavailable, the method either resolves the unavailability or waits until the unavailability is resolved and then initiates memory access instructions, thereby enabling the desired virtual address information to be accessed.

  • Patent number: 4680590
Abstract: Three fixed reference stations having known positions comprise Omega receivers. Phase measurements made at all three stations are assembled at a master station, utilizing landlines or radio links and, using the known positions of the stations, a central processing unit calculates not merely the offset of the master station as measured from the true position but also the errors in the azimuths of the propagation directions of the received signals. The position measurement of a vehicle with an Omega receiver is corrected on the basis of the offset and also the errors in the said azimuths. Sufficient accuracy is achieved for finding the position of land based vehicles whose position may be calculated subject to the corrections in the master station on the basis of raw data transmitted to the master station over a link. Alternatively the azimuth corrections may be transmitted to the vehicle over the link. Two fixed stations suffice if they can measure absolute phase.
