  • Patent number: 11642709
Abstract: An in-situ thermal remediation method and a drip system for implementing the method. The drip water system collects data and changes its drip operation to optimize performance of the electrode. Electrical current, drip volume, drip cycle time and change in current are measured as a function of time and adjustments are made to the drip water volume and time between injections to optimize performance based on the observed current performance over time. A specialized screen delivers water where it is needed.

  • Patent number: 11484908
Abstract: Web lifter and/or stabilizer and method of lifting and/or stabilizing a travelling web and for coating a web. The device creates a web hold down force via a negative pressure slot at its exit side, which draws the web down against the surface on the entry side. The device can be actuated to move the web relative to a slot die coater off the die lips and stop the application of slurry to the web, thereby creating uncoated regions on the web surface. The device can then be actuated to move the web back into contact with the coater to start the application of slurry to the web, thereby creating coated regions on the web surface. Web lifting can be accomplished by rotating the device in first and second directions to lift the web off of the slot die coater and return the web back into contact with the coater.

  • Patent number: 10265719
Abstract: An improved system for applying a coating to a sheet is disclosed. The system allows precise control of the actuation of the valves and movement of the nozzle to create a plurality of coating profiles. The system includes a controller, which is used to actuate the valves to begin and terminate the flow of material onto the sheet through a nozzle. In addition, the controller may move the nozzle from its operative position to an inoperative position away from the sheet. In some embodiments, a fluid displacement mechanism is used. The controller is also able to coat the opposite side of the sheet. Registration of the coating can be programmed to be in exact alignment, or advanced or delayed by a specific amount.

  • Publication number: 20190081317
Abstract: Dual sided coating system and method for coating substrates, such as substrates useful as battery electrodes. In certain embodiments, the system includes an inline calender station positioned between the dryer and the rewind of the substrate; i.e., positioned downstream, in the direction of substrate (or web) travel, of the dryer, and upstream of the rewind. In certain embodiments, the calender operation is positioned immediately downstream of the dryer; no intermediate equipment that processes the substrata, such as a vacuum dryer, is positioned between the dryer and the calender. Advantages of such a system and method include twice the throughput compared to single side coating operations, a smaller equipment footprint compared to tandem coating lines, lower capital cost and operating cost compared to tandem coating lines, and fewer issues with wrinkles in the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9692656
Abstract: A policy distribution server provides, on a subscription basis, policy updates to effect desired behaviors of network intermediary devices. The policy updates may specify caching policies, and may in some instances, include instructions for data collection by the network intermediary devices. Data collected in accordance with such instructions may be used to inform future policy updates distributed to the network intermediary devices.

  • Patent number: 9154387
Abstract: Data useful in analyzing the effectiveness of policies for handling transactions involving client communications is automatically collected at network intermediary devices and delivered to an analysis server as part of feedback communications from the network intermediary devices. The data may be collected according to data collection directives distributed to the network intermediary devices along with updates to policies for handling transactions, those updates being configured to alter actions of the network intermediary devices, for example to accommodate changes in behaviors of content servers from which the network intermediary devices obtain content in connection with the client communications.

  • Patent number: 9075894
Abstract: A caching device is configured to determine whether an object received or currently stored at the caching device should be (or continue to be) cached at the caching device, even if the object is otherwise cacheable. If so, the object is cached (or retained) at the caching device, otherwise, it is not. The determination as to whether or not the object should be cached or, if already cached, retained at the caching device may be made on the basis of a worthiness determination which evaluates the object on the basis of one or more parameters or attributes of the object, which worthiness may be one part of an overall value determination for the object.

  • Patent number: 8671157
Abstract: The present invention describes a system, method, and article of manufacture for resolving names received in network protocol requests by a network intermediary device coupled between a client network and a server network. A deferred trust model caching engine in the network intermediary device includes a transactor module configured to efficiently process a protocol request with a sequence of determinant criteria, although the sequence can occur in different orders. The deferred trust model caching engine includes a cacheability evaluator component configured to determine whether the protocol request is for a resource that the protocol permits to be cached by the network intermediate device, and a supplier trust evaluator component configured to compare information about the client's network protocol request and a cached object representation to determine if the object is trustworthy or not. The cached object representation associates an object with a supplier identity and a supplier trust property.
