  • Publication number: 20130210661
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods for determining the presence of an unstable atherosclerotic plaque in an individual, comprising the steps of measuring the presence and/or level of at least one biochemical marker in a biological sample obtained from said individual, and, based on the result of this measurement, determining the presence of an unstable atherosclerotic plaque in the individual. The present invention also relates to a method for diagnosing a vascular or metabolic disease or an increased predisposition to an adverse outcome in an individual comprising determining the presence of an unstable atherosclerotic plaque in the individual. The present invention also relates to an in vitro method for identifying markers of the presence of an unstable atherosclerotic plaque in a subject, using depleted protein extracts obtained from proteins extracts from biological samples representative of stable and unstable atherosclerotic plaques.

  • Publication number: 20070161697
Abstract: The invention relates to compounds of general formula (I), where R1 and R2 are independently selected from a hydrogen atom, a branched or straight chain alkyl with 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a fluoroalkyl group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms and 3 to 7 fluorine atoms, A is an aromatic group with one or several rings, optionally comprising one or more heteroatoms and B is an optionally-substituted phenyl group, or an optionally-substituted pyridine.

  • Publication number: 20030129663
Abstract: The present invention relates to the fields of biology and pharmacology. This invention relates, generally, to methods and compositions for modulating oxLDL activity or transport. The present invention resides more specifically in methods for screening compounds that modulate oxLDL activity, more particularly oxLDL cellular uptake. The present invention more particularly describes novel methods of selecting or identifying compounds that can modulate oxLDL cellular binding, uptake and/or degradation by CD36 polypeptides and especially CD36 polypeptides comprising a functional cytoplasmic domain in various cells, such as macrophages. The invention also relates to the use of such compounds, in particular for research, development, improvement, diagnosis, therapeutic or prohylactic treatment of various pathological conditions.
