  • Publication number: 20260190293
Abstract: A power tool includes a metallic housing having a user-facing first side portion and a second side portion opposite the user-facing first side portion. The metallic housing defines a cooling zone in the second side portion opposite the user-facing first side portion, and a circuit board assembly is mounted to the cooling zone in thermal communication with the cooling zone. A motor is positioned within the metallic housing at a location between the circuit board assembly and the user-facing first side portion.

  • Publication number: 20260175395
Abstract: A method for operating a power tool includes electronically braking a motor shaft of a brushless electric motor using a controller of the power tool. A spindle unit, positioned on the motor shaft, has a known rotational position relative to at least one pole of a plurality of poles of a rotor of the motor shaft. The method further includes stopping the motor shaft, using the controller, in a predetermined rotational position relative to a stator of the electric motor based on a detected position state of a plurality of position states as detected by a plurality of position sensors of the electric motor. The plurality of position states identify a rotational position of the rotor relative to the stator, and at the predetermined rotational position, a spindle lock of the power tool is configured to engage the spindle unit without additional rotation of the motor shaft.

  • Patent number: 12128489
Abstract: A blade-height optimization indicator for a table saw determines based on the rotational position of one or more blade guards of the table saw as they are displaced by a workpiece being cut whether the blade-height of the table saw is optimized relative to the thickness of the workpiece and provides a visual GO/NO-GO indication depending on whether the blade height is determined to be optimized.
