    Abstract: A system includes a camera mounted to a vehicle, a display in communication with the camera and configured to display an image detected by the camera, and a side mirror assembly. The side mirror assembly includes a side mirror moveable between a recessed position and a deployed position, and an actuator configured to deploy the side mirror into the deployed position. The system includes a status detector configured to detect a negative operational status of the camera, and, when the negative operation status is detected, cause the actuator to deploy the side mirror into the deployed position.
