Abstract: A sealing material suitable for sealing a juncture between an edge of a photovoltaic cell and a frame for accommodating the photovoltaic cell, the sealing material including: a physical locking layer comprising a plurality of flexible protrusions extending from a surface of the physical locking layer; and an adhesive layer comprising an adhesive surface for attaching the sealing material to the edge of the photovoltaic cell; wherein the sealing material has an elongated shape, wherein the sealing material is capable of forming a friction fit between the plurality of flexible protrusions and a surface of the frame when the sealing material is disposed at the juncture between the edge of the photovoltaic cell and the frame for accommodating the photovoltaic cell.
