  • Publication number: 20220137088
Abstract: Accelerometer for measuring acceleration along a measurement direction including a moving mass which is moving with respect to a frame member only along the measurement direction, a suspension system for suspending the moving mass in the frame member while substantially limiting movement of the moving mass along only the measurement direction, and an optical fibre that is connected at a fibre connection point that is coupled to the movable mass. The optical fibre is arranged between the moving mass and the frame member and includes a measurement section for measuring the movement of the moving mass along the measurement direction.

  • Publication number: 20210231431
Abstract: A device and method for holding a strain sensor for determining strain in an object includes a body. The body of the device includes a surface mountable frame, the frame being plate-shaped and including: at least two anchor portions for enabling attachment to a surface of the object, a strain sensitive region in an intermediate position between a first anchor portion and a second anchor portion of the at least two anchor portions, a sensor connection portion configured to hold at least one strain sensor for enabling attachment of the strain sensor to the frame in the strain sensitive region, and at least one elastic portion arranged in the strain sensitive region, the elastic portion being formed by a spring structure configured to modify a strain transmission from the object to the sensor connection portion of the frame. Preferably, the device holds a fiber optic strain sensor.

  • Patent number: 8024704
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods that facilitate dynamic programming language execution in a managed code environment. A class component is provided that declares an inheritance hierarchy for one or more tagged values associated with a dynamic programming language. During execution of the tagged values, a rules component mitigates user-defined types from inheriting or deriving properties from the tagged values in order to support a type safe runtime environment. A bifurcated class tree is provided that defines non-tagged type elements on one side of the tree and tagged type element values on an alternate branch of the tree. The rules component analyzes runtime extensions that help to prevent data from one component of the tree deriving or inheriting properties from another component of the tree. The runtime extensions include such aspects as cast class extensions, test class extensions, and conversion class extensions for converting data types from one class subtype to another.

  • Publication number: 20110175700
Abstract: Surface-mountable conductive polymer electronic devices include at least one conductive polymer active layer laminated between upper and lower electrodes. Upper and lower insulation layers, respectively, sandwich the upper and lower electrodes. First and second planar conductive terminals are formed on the lower insulation layer. First and second cross-conductors are provided by plated through-hole vias, whereby the cross-conductors connect each of the electrodes to one of the terminals. Certain embodiments include two or more active layers, arranged in a vertically-stacked configuration and electrically connected by the cross-conductors and electrodes in parallel. Several embodiments include at least one cross-conductor having a chamfered or beveled entry hole through the upper insulation layer to provide enhanced adhesion between the cross-conductor and the insulation layer. Several methods for manufacturing the present surface-mountable conductive polymer electronic devices are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070064981
Abstract: A plurality of diagnostic images of a region of interest of a subject are generated and stored in a patient database (10). In one of the images, a region of interest, such as a tumor, is identified. The database is searched for the other images of the same region of interest . Parameter values indicative of characteristics of the tumor are extracted from each image and displayed in tabular or graphic format by time. The images are reformatted, scaled, and displayed in a è format to illustrate a temporal evolution of the tumor in the region of interest.
