  • Publication number: 20180221222
Abstract: Packages for containing consumer goods are disclosed. The consumer goods may be disposable, durable or semi-durable. Absorbent article is one class of disposable articles that may be contained by packages. The packages comprise an opening that is covered by an overlabel. The overlabel is at least partially peeled off of the package so that articles contained within the package can be removed through the now exposed opening. In some embodiments, the package can be reclosed by covering the opening with the overlabel. A consumer may wish to dispose of a used article by placing the article back into the package via the opening and re-adhering the overlabel.

  • Patent number: 9858826
Abstract: A wing protection system for increasing avoidance of grounded aircraft utilizes a plurality of wing clamps attached to an aircraft wing. A wing clamp from the plurality of wing clamps houses an electronics assembly; the electronics assembly including a plurality of sensors, a processor, a transceiver, and a peripheral alert system. The plurality of sensors detects objects approaching the grounded aircraft, while the peripheral alert system provides a visual and audible alert to the presence of the grounded aircraft; the processor receiving signals from the plurality of sensors and dictating appropriate action of the peripheral alert system. The transceiver allows data to be shared with a compatible user device, wherein a software application run on the compatible user device provides a digital representation of the plurality of wing clamps positioned about the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 9133690
Abstract: Disclosed are fluid handling systems and methods for mitigating the effects of pressure drops that occur at the startup of subsea pumps associated with liquid producing reservoirs. The systems and methods are particularly useful in conjunction with subsea pumps used for producing liquids from high-pressure, low permeability hydrocarbon reservoirs. The systems and methods can mitigate damage to reservoir completions and reservoirs caused by high pressure transients downstream of the pump. A choke valve is used to restrict the flow of the liquids prior to the startup of the subsea pump. After the start of the subsea pump, the choke valve is gradually opened while a recirculation valve is gradually closed, and a full bore valve is opened.

  • Patent number: 8562281
Abstract: In one embodiment, a fluid driven actuation system is provided having a turbine and an actuation member with cooperating surfaces. In one form the fluid is fuel. The turbine may move when fluid is flowed through the actuation member thereby causing the actuation member to move by action of the cooperating threaded surfaces. A movable nozzle may also be provided to direct fluid flowing through actuation member and may be used to cause the turbine to move. A spring may be provided to create a biasing force in the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 8419345
Abstract: In one embodiment a system is disclosed that includes an actuation device coupled with a turbomachinery mechanism. The actuation device can include multiple fluid pathways and a valve to alternatively place each of these pathways in fluid communication with a supply port while another of the pathways is in fluid communication with a return port to selectively move an actuation member along a range of travel. A brake valve may also be included to provide pressurized fluid to the actuation member when the actuation device is in an on condition and divert at least a portion of the pressurized fluid away from the actuation member through another pathway when the actuation device is in an off condition. A fluid-powered brake is coupled to this further pathway to selectively apply braking force to the actuation member in response to the diverted pressurized fluid.

  • Patent number: 7109763
Abstract: A Phase Locked Loop (PLL) that has a substantially constant gain over a wide frequency range. The frequency range over which the PLL operates is divided into a number of frequency sub-ranges. The circuit includes a mechanism for adjusting the loop gain profile as the PLL moves from one frequency sub-range to another. When the PLL switches to a new frequency sub-range, the loop gain profile is adjusted to a pre-established value. Changes of frequency within each sub-range are then accomplished with the loop gain varying within a pre-established range.

  • Patent number: 7057434
Abstract: A crystal oscillator circuit which does not produce runt pulses when the oscillator is turned on or off. The circuit includes a crystal oscillator, an integrator which integrates the energy in a plurality of pulses, a threshold circuit which is active when the output of the integrator reaches a pre-specified threshold and gating circuits which gate the output of the crystal oscillator to the output terminal only when the threshold circuit has reached the specified threshold.

  • Patent number: 6899621
Abstract: A system and method of selling pre-printed lottery game tickets, on-line lottery game tickets, or a combination of pre-printed and on-line lottery game tickets in a retail store is disclosed. At least one lottery game token is provided bearing a game identification code thereon for being scanned at a POS terminal provided as a part of an in-store POS network. The scanned identification code is detected by a POS monitor in communication with the POS terminal, the POS monitor determining from the scanned code the type of lottery game to be played. The POS monitor, or a separate ticket controller in communication with the POS monitor, will then issue a dispense ticket command to a ticket dispenser located at the POS terminal for each pre-printed lottery game to be played.
