Patent number: 10852396Abstract: Examples relate to a turntable peripheral for three dimensional (3D) scanning. In some examples, 3D scan data of a real-world object is obtained while the object is rotated by the turntable peripheral. Positioning commands are sent to the turntable peripheral to rotate the object. The 3D scan data is collected while the turntable peripheral is in an untilted and/or tilted position.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2015Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: David Bradley Short, Jinman Kang, Stephen George Miller, Jordi Morillo Peres, Eric Monsef, Ben Wynne, Matthew Leck, Daniel Jordan Kayser, Eddie Licitra, Christopher S Tanner

Publication number: 20180077626Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling a user's access to a mobile device in a vehicle. For example, a method includes receiving, at a controlling device, vehicle data related to an operation status of a vehicle. The method includes determine whether the vehicle is in a motion state by comparing the vehicle data to a threshold. When the vehicle data exceeds the threshold, the method includes determining that the vehicle is in the motion state and sending, to a mobile device, a blocking signal in order to prevent a user from using the mobile device for at least one function. When the vehicle data does not exceed the threshold, the method includes determining that the vehicle is not in the motion state and sending, to the mobile device, an accessing signal in order to allow the user to use the mobile device for the at least one function.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2016Publication date: March 15, 2018Inventors: Thomas W. Publication number: 20120081102Abstract: Circuits, methods, and apparatus that provide an audio receptacle that can detect the presence of an audio jack without using mechanical switches or other such mechanical mechanisms. One example provides an audio receptacle having two contacts that may be electrically connected when an audio jack is inserted. When no audio jack is inserted into the audio receptacle, the two ground contacts may not be connected. When an audio jack is inserted into the audio receptacle, the resulting closed circuit may be detected and used to activate or otherwise turn on one or more audio circuits in or associated with the audio receptacle. Conversely, when no audio jack is inserted, the resulting open circuit may be detected and used to deactivate or otherwise turn off or reduce power in one or more audio circuits in or associated with the audio receptacle.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2010Publication date: April 5, 2012Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Zheng Gao, Nathan Johanningsmier, Casey Hardy, Eric Monsef, Chiachi Wu

Patent number: 7092254Abstract: A cooling system, the system comprises a housing having an inlet and an outlet, a liquid to be flown from the inlet into the housing and out of outlet to exit the housing. The housing further has an interior portion for an electronic device to reside therein and a vibration transducer coupling to the housing. The liquid is flown across the electronic device to dissipate heat from the electronic device. The vibration transducer causes turbulent or agitation in the liquid as the liquid is flown across the electronic device.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2004Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Assignee: Apple Computer, Inc.Inventors: Eric Monsef, Christiaan Ligtenberg, Zach Zeliff, Ihab A.
