  • Patent number: 12287916
Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for interacting with content and updating the location and orientation of that content using a single controller. The system may allow a user to use the same controller for moving content around the room and interacting with that content by tracking a range of the motion of the controller.

  • Patent number: 12222793
Abstract: A computer system, computer readable storage medium, and computer-implemented method for detecting if one or more processing devices have separately sourced power feeds. The method includes determining transmission of a first signal in a first electric path. The method also includes monitoring for a second signal in a second electric path that is different from the first electric path. The method further includes determining, subject to the monitoring, electrical isolation between the first electric path and the second electric path. The claimed computer-implemented method dynamically, and automatically, determines that power sources are separate, isolated, and redundant.

  • Publication number: 20240311161
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein implement a centralized lighting module configured to control a diverse set of lighting-enabled peripheral devices. The set of lighting-enabled peripheral devices is diverse with respect to a type and a manufacturer. The lighting module is referred to as a centralized lighting module because the lighting module is part of an operating system of a computing device. Consequently, a user of the computing device no longer has to download and learn to use multiple different lighting applications if the user wants to create a diverse lighting ecosystem in which lighting-enabled peripheral devices from different manufacturers are connected to the computing device. Similarly, a developer of a computing application no longer has to engage and interact with multiple application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) if the developer wants users of their computing application to be able to create a diverse lighting ecosystem.

  • Publication number: 20240295942
Abstract: Disclosed is an operating system (OS) discovery mode that identifies and provides access to OS and/or third-party provided features within an applicable region of a desktop. In some configurations, once the discovery mode is activated, the content displayed by the applicable region is analyzed to identify content usable by OS and/or third-party provided features. Visual cues are rendered in the applicable region near the identified content, highlighting the availability of the OS and/or third-party provided features. Users may interact with the visual cues to manipulate the underlying content or to invoke the OS and/or third-party provided features. OS and/or third-party provided features may modify content displayed by an application, launch an inline micro-experience, crop or export images, etc. While in the discovery mode, visual cues are highlighted as a discovery mouse cursor moves around the desktop.

  • Patent number: 12056191
Abstract: There is provided a method of using a bitmap filter to filter a data source as part of a join operation. A set bit at a bit location of the bitmap filter is associated with an entry of the data source that comprises an identifier that matches a filter parameter. A row identifier of a row in another data source that corresponds to the identifier is determined based on a sum of a number of bits set in bit locations that are between the bit location of the set bit associated with the entry of the data source and a bit location in the bitmap filter corresponding to a different, known, row identifier of a different row in the another data source. The row of the another data source corresponding to the determined row identifier is interrogated to obtain information defining the identifier that matches the filter parameter.

  • Patent number: 12045471
Abstract: A single input/output (I/O) controller for both secure partitionable endpoints (PEs) and non-secure PEs is enabled in a trusted execution environment (TEE) where secure memory portions are isolated from non-secure PEs. Security attributes for certain endpoints indicate secure memory access privilege of owning entities of the certain endpoints. A security monitor has exclusive access to the address translation control tables (TCE) stored in secure memory associated with a secure endpoint. When owning entity reassignment occurs, the endpoints are reinitialized to support a change in ownership from an outgoing owning entity having secure memory access and an incoming owning entity not having secure memory access.

  • Publication number: 20230386154
Abstract: Disclosed is an approach for managing and displaying virtual content in a mixed reality environment on a one-on-one basis independently by each application, each virtual content is rendered by its respective application into a bounded volume referred herein as a “Prism.” Each Prism may have characteristics and properties that allow a universe application to manage and display the Prism in the mixed reality environment such that the universe application may manage the placement and display of the virtual content in the mixed reality environment by managing the Prism itself.

  • Patent number: 11715270
Abstract: An illustrative content augmentation system identifies a presentation context dataset indicating how an extended reality (XR) presentation device is to present XR content in connection with a presentation of primary content. Based on the presentation context dataset, the content augmentation system selects a subset of secondary content items from a set of secondary content items each configured for presentation as XR content that augments the presentation of the primary content. The content augmentation system also provides the selected subset of secondary content items for presentation by the XR presentation device in connection with the presentation of the primary content. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.
