  • Patent number: 5764724
Abstract: A method of X-ray photography or a method of some other type of radiation sensoring, such as electronic image storage, employs the use of a receptor unit (2) which can be swung outwards and upwards from an initial position in or beneath a patient support table (1) about alternative pivot centers (11, 12) disposed in the region of respective side edges of the table to alternative positions for operating with a horizontal beam path. The receptor unit can be swung out about a vertical axis from these positions in which it is parallel with the longitudinal direction of the table to a position in which it is parallel with the longitudinal direction of the table to a position in which the unit is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the table, to enable pictures to be taken of a patient seated in a wheelchair, for instance. The invention also relates to a patient support table (1) provided with a receptor unit (2) of this kind.

  • Patent number: 5159771
Abstract: When examining X-ray film in an examination cabinet, the films are advanced consecutively in a horizontal direction from a magazine attached or capable of being attached to one side of the cabinet. The films are placed against each other in the magazine and are removed therefrom at least partly by a feed roller. Oppositely angled parts located on an endless transporting device engage the lower edges of respective films. After being examined, the films are delivered to a further magazine located on the other side of the cabinet. Located at one end of the cabinet is a ramp, on which is mounted a plurality of diodes which enable the various operations carried out in conjunction with the examination of X-ray film to be automated. The cabinet, magazine and transporting device can be constructed in the form of a module system. One of two modules can be placed above the other, and the modules can be adjusted angularly in relation to each other. The invention also relates to the examination cabinet itself.

  • Patent number: 5157707
Abstract: In connection with X-ray or like examination there is used a cassette holder arrangement which is carried by a frame structure (7) by means of pivotal arms (4) which are capable of being swung in the horizontal plane, such as to adjust the position of the cassette in the vertical direction. The arrangement enables pictures to be taken of a sitting patient in mutually perpendicular directions, with the aid of a radiation source (2). The cassette holder (3) can be swung between the exposure positions in a circuit path around the sitting patient, by activation of one of the arms (4). To this end there can be used a parallel linkage (11) which is operative to guide the cassette holder during this pivotal movement. the cassette holder is fixated relative to one of the arms (4), by means of a locking device (8), which is released when wishing to pivot the cassette holder. The invention also relates to a cassette holder arrangement of the aforedescribed kind.

  • Patent number: 5031202
Abstract: A tower structure (1) carries a pivotable swing arm (2) which has a geometric extension which deviates from the rectilinear between a first end at which the arm carries a holder (3) for an image-receptor accommodating cassette, and a second end at which the swing arm carries a beam source (5) and a counterweight (6). The structure includes a coupling means (2a) by means of which the arm can be coupled to a frame (16) of an examination table (14) comprising a table top which can be moved in two mutually perpendicular directions. When the coupling means is engaged, the tower structure and the examination table form a unit, with the image receptor located in a plane parallel with the table top (19) and slightly spaced therefrom. The cassette holder can be displaced linearly in the longitudinal direction of the table, to enable photographs to be taken with an angled beam path.

  • Patent number: 5023899
Abstract: For taking X-ray photographs there is provided a moveable tower structure for ceiling-mounted frame which carries a beam source arranged for movement in X-Y-Z directions and which is rotatable about a horizontal axis. A receptor unit is mounted beneath a patient support table for movement in the X direction and Y direction. Activation of a holder associated with the receptor unit and intended to receive a vertically extending secondary receptor for horizontal beam path causes the beam source to move automatically to a basic setting.
