  • Patent number: 10046837
Abstract: In one example, a watercraft includes a buoyant body in the form of a single piece structure sized and configured to support the weight of one or more users. The watercraft also includes a retractable fin connected to a pin that resides in a fixed location relative to the body, the pin including a side surface that is in contact with the body. The retractable fin is rotatable about the pin between an extended position and a retracted position, and the retractable fin includes an engagement portion that is engageable with a first portion of the body and with a second portion of the body. The retractable fin assumes the extended position when the engagement portion is releasably retained by the first portion of the body, and the retractable fin assumes the retracted position when the engagement portion is releasably retained by the second portion of the body.

  • Patent number: 10037371
Abstract: In one example, a method for method for backing up data begins when a backup notice is received from a node. In response to the notice, a slot is reserved in an accounting system for storage of a cumulative backup. One or more partial backups are then received and merged with any data present in the slot so as to create or modify a cumulative backup in the slot, where the cumulative backup includes the one or more partial backups and any other data in the slot. Upon receipt of an indication that the cumulative backup is final, the cumulative backup is recorded, and access to the cumulative backup enabled.

  • Patent number: 9990706
Abstract: Systems and methods may apply global contrast correction to a plurality of thermal images. For example, a vehicle may capture a plurality of aerial thermal images for use in generating a composite image. Each individual thermal image may be individually contrasted based on the temperature range of pixels in that image, so the contrast range of the thermal images may vary. The plurality of thermal images may be analyzed to determine a global contrast range. Extreme temperatures may be excluded from the global contrast range. Based on the global contrast range, a contrast level of each of the plurality of thermal images may be adjusted. For example, the individual temperature range of each thermal image may be scaled to a global temperature range. A composite image having consistent contrasting may be generated from the plurality of thermal images.

  • Publication number: 20180029287
Abstract: One example of a flexible structure includes an elongate body having a first end and a second end, and the first end is configured to be releasably connected to the second end. As well, one or more living hinges are positioned in the elongate body between the first end and the second end, and the one or more living hinges are configured and arranged to enable the first end and second end to be moved toward each other. Finally, the flexible structure is configured to alternatively assume at least a flat state and an assembled state, and in the assembled state, the first end of the elongate body is connected to the second end of the elongate body.

  • Patent number: 9878804
Abstract: Aerial thermal images of a ground surface may be captured using a thermal image sensor. The images may be contrasted, georeferenced, orthorectified, and/or stitched together to form a complete thermal image. The complete thermal image may include a plurality of pixels with display values corresponding to temperatures of the ground. Local temperature sensors may measure the temperature at locations on the ground. Based on display values for pixels corresponding to the locations on the ground and the temperature measurements, a curve mapping display values to temperature measurements may be calculated. Temperatures may be calculated for pixels for which the temperature was not previously known. Users may select a temperature range of interest, and pixels with temperature values within the temperature range of interest may be distinctively marked. The pixels may be marked with different colors based on where their temperature value falls within the temperature range of interest.

  • Publication number: 20180013193
Abstract: A mobile platform includes an antenna adapted to simultaneously transmit on a first channel and receive on a second channel, and to dynamically switch communication channels as needed. For example, as the mobile platform changes position, orientation, etc., the configuration of the antenna may be updated to transmit on the second channel and receive on the first channel. Accordingly, despite changes in position or orientation, the mobile platform may maintain communication with other mobile platforms, ground controllers, user equipment, etc.

  • Patent number: 9844213
Abstract: Handles, apparatus devices, and methods for clamping and using an extra handle onto fishing rods that provides enhanced leverage while holding the existing elongated handle on the rod between clamps on the extra handle, as well as being used for carrying the rod before and after it is being used. The extra handle has bent member between two clamp ends with an inner generally wide flat smooth face, and lower and upper smooth perimeter edge surfaces, that provide a comfortable surface against the back of the hand of the fisherman and helps provide leverage to the fisherman while fishing with the rod and carrying the rod before and after use.

  • Publication number: 20170238698
Abstract: A large, thin, generally planar panel constructed from blow-molded plastic may include a first surface, a second surface, and a hollow interior portion disposed between the first and second surfaces. The panel may include a nominal panel thickness (PT), which may be the distance between the first surface and the second surface, and a nominal wall thickness (WT), which may be the thickness of the outer wall of the blow-molded plastic structure. A plurality of depressions may be integrally formed in the second surface and a nominal distance (D) separating adjacent depressions may be measured from an edge of one depression to an edge of the adjacent depression. The relationship between the nominal panel thickness, the nominal wall thickness, and the nominal distance between adjacent depressions is shown by the equation WT·PT·D?0.030.

  • Patent number: 9630689
Abstract: In one example, a board includes a body having a single piece structure, the body including an upper surface that defines a deck, and a lower surface. The board also includes first and second retractable fins, where the first retractable fin is rotatably connected directly to the body at a first fixed location on the body such that the first retractable fin is rotatable about the first fixed location between an extended position and a retracted position, and the first retractable fin including an engagement portion that is engageable with a first portion of the body and with a second portion of the body. The first retractable fin assumes the extended position when the engagement portion is releasably retained by the first portion of the body, and the first retractable fin assumes the retracted position when the engagement portion is releasably retained by the second portion of the body.

  • Patent number: 9541440
Abstract: A dosing cup having a longitudinal axis includes a base; an opening opposing the base, wherein the opening is circumscribed by a rim; and a sidewall extending from the base to the rim. The sidewall includes a first portion extending from the rim toward the base. The first portion has a projection with a dosing indicium. The projection is defined by a length extending axially along the sidewall and a width that is perpendicular to the length. The width of the projection is less than the length of the projection. The sidewall includes a second portion extending from the base toward the rim. The second portion has a recess. The projection of the first portion mates with the recess of the second portion. The first portion has a first translucency and the second portion has a second translucency, wherein the first translucency is different than the second translucency.
