  • Publication number: 20140318265
Abstract: A testing apparatus for a strut having a cylinder portion and a rod portion is provided. The testing apparatus includes a frame assembly, a loading mechanism, and a rotating assembly. The frame assembly includes a retainer portion configured to hold the cylinder portion of the strut about a first axis. The loading mechanism includes two actuators angularly disposed between the frame assembly and the rod portion of the strut. The actuators can cooperatively load the strut along the first axis. The rotating assembly is coupled between the frame assembly and the rod portion of the strut. The rotating assembly can rotate the rod portion relative to the cylinder portion.

  • Patent number: 6442501
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a velocity of an implement and thereby moving an implement to a desired position. A control system has input signals representative of the implement arm limit position, the implement arm actual position and the implement arm desired position and outputs a signal representative of a desired velocity. The control system determines an arm velocity as a function of the arm limit position and the arm actual position and a second velocity as a function of the arm actual position and the arm desired position. The desired velocity is a function of the arm velocity when the arm velocity has a predetermined relationship to the second velocity, and the desired velocity is a function of the second velocity when the arm velocity signal does not have the predetermined relationship to the second velocity.

  • Patent number: 6317676
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for controlling the slip of a work machine having a ground-engaging traction device and a hitch operable to receive a ground-engaging implement. A control system receives an actual velocity signal indicative of an actual velocity of the work machine, an apparent velocity signal indicative of an apparent velocity of the work machine, and a desired slip signal indicative of a desired slip of the work machine. The control system determines an actual derivative of slip of the work machine as a function of the actual velocity signal and the apparent velocity signal, and transmits a control signal as a function of the desired slip signal, the actual velocity signal, the apparent velocity signal, and the actual derivative of the slip. The control signal controls the vertical position of one of the hitch and the ground-engaging implement.

  • Patent number: 6283222
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a lateral position of a first member on a hitch of a work machine. A processing device receives a first signal indicative of a turn radius of the work machine, and transmits a second signal as a function of the first signal. The second signal controls the lateral position of the first member. An actuator is coupled with the processing device to receive the second signal. The actuator controls the lateral position of the first member as a function of the second signal.

  • Patent number: 6250396
Abstract: A processing device for determining a position of a first member capable of movement in at least two axes. A first processing device receives a first member actual position along a first axis. The first processing device determines and transmits a first member limit position along a second axis as a function of the first member actual position along the first axis.

  • Publication number: 20010004018
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a lateral position of a first member on a hitch of a work machine. A first processing device receives a first signal indicative of a desired turn radius of the work machine and transmits a first desired hitch position as a function of the first signal. A second processing device receives a second signal indicative of an actual hitch position and also receives the first desired hitch position. The second processing device transmits a first error as a function of the second signal and the desired hitch position. A controller receives the first error and transmits a second error as a function of the first error. A first member modulator receives the first error and transmits a first activation signal as a function of the second error. The first activation signal controls the lateral position of the first member.
