Abstract: An assembly, and an associated methodology, for provisioning a computer server, or other device, with an operating system or other computer data. The computer server is positioned at a build area that includes wireless local area network apparatus that broadcasts provisioning software. A mobile start cart is positioned at the build area to receive the broadcast data and to provide the data to the computer server to be provisioned. Provisioning of the computer server is made without need of an Ethernet connection, or associated Ethernet infrastructure.

Abstract: Network demonstration techniques are disclosed which allow a fully-operational, secure wireless network to be implemented at a customer location. Using only a portable authentication server, a laptop computer, and at least two access points, a wireless network can be set up at the customer location within a matter of minutes, so that a user of a portable computing device having an appropriate network interface card is able to roam throughout the customer location with the benefit of a wireless connection to one of the access points. The laptop computer contains software integrating the functionality of a security server, a user authentication database, and other components necessary to implement the wireless network. The user may also be able to communicate with the laptop computer and authentication server from locations external to the customer location, perhaps using a wireless wide area network or secondary wireless local area network.

Abstract: An automated satellite network sizing and pricing workbook (15) implemented on a computer system (10) that is programmed to execute electronic spreadsheet software. The workbook (15) is comprised of a number of worksheets (15A-15J). Some of the worksheets receive data, sometimes manually from a network provider and sometimes automatically from other worksheets, and perform “hidden” calculations to provide various data used for sizing and pricing the network. Other worksheets are for reference or for generating reports of calculated values. The worksheets interact with each other, and the network provider uses them interactively and iteratively to design a network that is feasible in terms of both capacity and cost.
