    Abstract: A scissors tool having removable replacement blades and bearings in an arcuate bearing path disposed to stiffen the pivot and bias the blades together with greater inter-blade pressure at the cutting point. In some embodiments, the scissors tool has flexible arms which increase said cutting point edge pressure and provide that little to no gap forms between the blades proximate to and behind the cutting point.

  • Bolster lock tool

    Abstract: A folding tool includes a bolster that acts as a safety and lock release. The tool may be designed for one-hand opening. An implement is held in a stored closed position by a safety formed by the bolster and a button style lock. The implement can be opened to the ready-for-use position by rotating the bolster to release the safety, and then rotating the implement. Once the implement is open, the bolster is rotated back to its original position setting the lock for the tool.

  • Fixed-blade knife with pivotable side pieces

    Abstract: A fixed-blade knife includes a unitary blade having an implement, a tang, and a pivot region between the implement and the tang. The unitary blade is disposed between a pair of parallel and spaced-apart side pieces that pivot to cover or expose the implement. In the pivoted position wherein the implement is exposed, the side pieces form part of the handle that is used to grasp the knife. A locking structure locks the side pieces in a selectable position, and a limit structure prevents overrotation of the side pieces.
