Patent number: 11957893Abstract: A neuromodulation therapy is delivered via at least one electrode implanted subcutaneously and superficially to a fascia layer superficial to a nerve of a patient. In one example, an implantable medical device is deployed along a superficial surface of a deep fascia tissue layer superficial to a nerve of a patient. Electrical stimulation energy is delivered to the nerve through the deep fascia tissue layer via implantable medical device electrodes.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Medtronic, Inc.Inventors: Brad C. Patent number: 10289453Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for allocating computing resources. A request to allocate a computing resource in a collection of networked computing devices is obtained. It is determined whether the request can be fulfilled according to a current configuration of the networked computing devices. A reconfiguration of one or more of the networked computing devices to a different configuration is initiated in order to fulfill the request. The reconfiguration is initiated when a value associated with the request exceeds a cost associated with fulfilling the request. The reconfiguration is initiated in response to determining that the request cannot be fulfilled according to the current configuration.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2010Date of Patent: May 14, 2019Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Eric P. Wei, Eric J. Brandwine, Andrew B. Dickinson, James A G Greenfield, Diwakar Gupta

Patent number: 9774489Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for allocating computing resources according to reserved capacity. In one or more computing devices, a reserved machine instance is designated for a user in one of several zones of multiple networked computing devices. The networked computing devices include multiple machine instances in each of the zones. A request is obtained from the user to allocate a machine instance within the networked computing devices. A zone is selected for allocating the machine instance from the zones based at least in part on the zone that is associated with the reserved machine instance.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2010Date of Patent: September 26, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Diwakar Gupta, Varun Madan, James Ag Greenfield, Eric P. Wei

Patent number: 9705741Abstract: Network addresses are dynamically allocated to devices based on demand. It is determined that a quantity of virtualized machine instances executed on a plurality of computing devices has changed. An updated network address allocation is dynamically assigned to a subdivision of a network in response to the quantity of virtualized machine instances. The subdivision includes the plurality of computing devices. A router for the subdivision is reconfigured to implement the updated network address allocation.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2015Date of Patent: July 11, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Albert P. Niemoller, Andrew B. Dickinson, Bradley D. Roberts, Eric P. Wei, Colin J. Whittaker

Patent number: 9602360Abstract: Techniques, including systems and methods, for organizing access to computing resources include dynamically mapping identifiers of data zones to data zones. A request for initiation of one or more computing resources is received. The request specifies an identifier of a data zone. Responsive to the request, the specified identifier is mapped to a data zone. The requested computing resources are initiated in the data zone to which the identifier was mapped.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2013Date of Patent: March 21, 2017Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: James A. G. Greenfield, Eric P. Wei, Diwakar Gupta, Paul C. Schattauer

Publication number: 20150271018Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for dynamically allocating network addresses to devices based on demand. A first network address allocation is initially assigned to a subdivision of a network including multiple computing devices. A router for the subdivision is configured to implement the first network address allocation. Data indicating a reconfiguration of the computing devices is obtained. A second network address allocation is subsequently assigned to the subdivision of the network based at least in part on the reconfiguration of the computing devices. The router for the subdivision is reconfigured to implement the second network address allocation.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2015Publication date: September 24, 2015Inventors: Albert P. Niemoller, Andrew B. Dickinson, Bradley D. Roberts, Eric P. Wei, Colin J. Whittaker
