  • Publication number: 20240125579
Abstract: Disclosed herein are alignment features for scopes, such as alignment rings for telescopic sights. For example, a scope can includes a proximal end having an interior surface. The proximal end is that which a user aligns his or her eye in order to visualize a target. The scope may also include an alignment ring on the interior surface of the proximal end. The alignment ring assists a user in determining whether his or her eye is properly aligned with a longitudinal axis of the scope. With correct eye alignment, the alignment ring is not visible. With incorrect eye alignment, at least a portion of the alignment ring is visible, thus ensuring accurate sighting.

  • Patent number: 8808892
Abstract: Battery packs having electrically insulating material between conductive surfaces of electrical components are described herein. In some embodiments, a battery pack includes a battery cell with a first conductive surface, an electrically conductive member with a second conductive surface, and electrically insulating material positioned between the first and second conductive surfaces. The electrically insulating material has at least one passage that enables the first and second conductive surfaces to be electrically connected. For example, the passage in the electrically insulating material may be formed by, during, or as a result of a process in which the first and second conductive surfaces are attached, such as by a welding process that both ablates a portion of the electrically insulating material to form the through passage and that physically joins the first and second conductive surfaces, thereby creating an electrical connection therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20110190746
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for laser ablation of tissue. The apparatus and methods utilize a laser source coupled to a fiberoptic laser delivery device and a laser driver and control system with features for protection of the laser delivery device, the patient, the operator and other components of the laser treatment system. Advantageously, the laser source may utilize laser diodes operating at approximately 975 nm, 1470 nm, 1535 nm or 1870 nm wavelengths with a laser power output of at least 60 watts, preferably greater than 80 watts and most preferably 120-150 watts or higher. The invention, which has broad medical and industrial applications, is described in relation to a method for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by contact laser ablation of the prostate (C-LAP).
