  • Patent number: 8738344
Abstract: A method for processing an image of a body region is provided, the region comprising a plurality of vessels capable of propagating a fluid of the body, the image comprising a plurality of pixels each being associated with an intensity. The method comprising determining, for each pixel, a probability that the pixel belongs to a vessel, based on the intensity of the pixel; simulating a propagation of the fluid from at least one source pixel towards the pixels of the image, the propagation being simulated to have a velocity that is function of the probability that the pixels of the image belong to a vessel; and inferring from the simulation a propagation time between the source pixel and each of the pixels of the image.

  • Patent number: 8630470
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method of processing a radiological image of an organ, the organ being connected to a flow circulation network, and comprising steps according to which: an operator or a processing means defines a contour to delimit a zone of interest in the radiological image of the organ; the processing means determines part of the network in which the flow supplies the zone of interest or originates from this zone of interest; and a display means displays the determined part of the network.

  • Patent number: 8423117
Abstract: A system and method to process an acquired image to differentiate a portion of subject anatomy to protect relative to a portion of anatomy to receive treatment is provided. The system includes a controller with program instructions to perform the steps of receiving an instruction to indicate a zone interest of the imaged anatomy to protect associated with treatment of the subject anatomy; calculating a first set of image elements associated with a first circulatory network in communication to supply a first zone of interest to treat and not in communication to supply a second zone of interest to protect; calculating a second set of image elements of the acquired image associated with a second circulatory network in communication to supply the second zone of interest to protect; and creating a display that differentiates the second set of image elements from a remainder of the acquired image.

  • Publication number: 20100329571
Abstract: A method for registering a source image of an object with a target image of the object includes generating a mask image delineating a structure of interest from the source image, determining a distance map for the mask image, determining a shape representation by identifying an iso-value on the distance map such that level curves correspond to the characteristics of a desired shape, iteratively calculating a similarity metric corresponding to a region of overlap between the level curve based shape representation and the second image resulting in a registration transform, applying the registration transform to the target image to co-register the source image with the target image, and displaying the co-registered source image and the target image on a display device.

  • Publication number: 20100104152
Abstract: A method to label a vascular tree from an image of an organ or group of organs that is acquired by a medical imaging device. The method includes generating at least one vascular tree model of a determined organ including a database of labels corresponding to each branch of the vascular tree models. The method also includes determining an acquired vascular tree of the organ or group of organs by segmenting the previously acquired image. The method also includes comparing the acquired vascular tree with the vascular tree model(s) of said organ or group of organs. The method also includes displaying the acquired vascular tree and the labels corresponding to the vascular tree model having the closest similarity with the acquired vascular tree.
