  • Publication number: 20250205678
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for sorbents, methods of using sorbents and contactors to capture CO2, structures including the sorbent, and systems and devices using sorbents to capture CO2. The methods, systems, contactors, and sorbents of the present disclosure can be advantageous since they are robust and reduce the cost of capturing CO2, in particular from ambient air. The present disclosure provides for sorbents having a support and a CO2-philic phase that includes phosphite containing molecules, which leads to a sorbent that is effective for capturing CO2.

  • Publication number: 20250050264
Abstract: A system used for, and a method for, removing carbon dioxide from a carbon dioxide laden gas mixture, the system comprising a group of carbon dioxide removal structures moving along a closed curve track. At one location along the track is located a desorption or regeneration box, into which each capture structure passes in order to be regenerated. The majority of the CO2 removal structures are fed ambient air, or an admixture of ambient air with a minor portion of a flue gas, and exhaust CO2-lean air. At least one selected such removal structure within each group, at a location immediately preceding its entry into the capture structure, is fed a flue gas comprising at least 4% CO2 by volume. Alternatively, a second capture structure at a location immediately preceding the location where the one selected capture structure is fed flue gas, is fed the exhaust stream from the selected removal structure.

  • Patent number: 11316311
Abstract: Functional modules of a modular system include a magnet and at least two conductors, at least one of which is movable into the functional module and at least one of which is formed of ferrous material. The movable conductor is biased against movement into the functional module and is positioned such that it contacts a power delivery conductor before the other conductor of the functional module contacts another power delivery conductor. The magnet provides attraction between the functional module and a power delivery module that assists in overcoming the bias against movement of the movable conductor into the functional module.

  • Patent number: 11070035
Abstract: Functional modules of a modular system include two or more ferrous conductors, each conductor having a separate magnet associated therewith that is electrically isolated from other conductors and magnets. Circuitry within functional modules is electrically connected to the ferrous conductors. The ferrous conductors of the functional modules are configured to be magnetically attracted to, contact, and receive power from ferrous conductors of a power delivery module.

  • Publication number: 20190077536
Abstract: A spill resistant disposable cup is comprised of a sheet of flexible material rolled into a cylindrical or frustoconical shape sealed at its edges and with a sealed bottom. The cup has at least three tabs that can be folded down in an overlapping manner to close the top of the cup. The tabs contain an interlocking mechanism to lock folded tabs in place. Two of the tabs are spaced apart to define a gap and a drinking opening when the tabs are folded down. The tabs can be shaped to form an internal sealing edge that provides resistance from leakage and spills if the cup is tipped when full.

  • Patent number: 8694291
Abstract: Waveform analysis is performed to identify and characterize power-consuming devices operating on a building electrical circuit. Current waveforms are measured from the building circuit with electrical devices operating thereon. The waveforms are separated into wavelets and analyzed to identify a representative wavelet model which is transmitted to a server for analysis. The server compares the representative wavelet model to a predictive model built from waveform signatures of known electrical devices operating on a circuit. When the predictive model matches the representative wavelet model, the electrical devices contributing to the representative wavelet, their operating mode(s) (e.g., “on”, “off”, “paused”, “hibernating”) and/or their performance state(s) (e.g., normal operation, deterioration, or failure modes) can be identified. This information can be communicated as feedback to the consumer to facilitate more efficient and more cost-effective energy usage.

  • Patent number: 7677249
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a device and method for providing a lateralization effect such as in a medical procedure. The lateralization device can have a supporting member, which can be adapted to be supported in a fixed position. A lateralization member can be provided to at least partially wrap around the supporting member and be mounted thereto to provide a lateralization effect. The lateralization member can be formed and/or adjusted to provide a variable lateralization. For example, the lateralization member can comprise a cylindrical member with an eccentric cut-out portion adapted to fit over the supporting member. The inter wall of the cut-out portion and the outer wall of the supporting member can be formed with interference fittings so that the lateralization member can rotate in relation to the supporting member to provide a variable lateralization.

  • Publication number: 20090140568
Abstract: A body support structure includes a backrest having a frame and a plurality of laterally spaced strips. Each of the strips extends in a longitudinal direction, with an upper end portion of each of the strips formed in an inverted J-shape. In another aspect, a body support structure includes a frame and a seat segment having a front portion and a rear portion. A back support segment is joined to the seat segment and has an upper portion formed in an inverted J-shape. A front portion of the seat segment and the upper portion of the back support segment are the only portions directly joined to the frame. In another aspect, a body support structure includes a plurality of longitudinally extending and laterally spaced strips and at least one laterally extending elastomeric member connecting each of said plurality of strips.
