  • Publication number: 20240347922
Abstract: An antenna includes a radiating structure to radiate electromagnetic waves having a phase along a radiating path extending in an axial direction, and a lens disposed in the radiating path and configured to pass the electromagnetic waves therethrough. The lens includes at least one lamina having a first surface, a second surface, a center axis that is aligned with the axial direction, a lamina thickness between the first surface and the second surface in a direction parallel to the axial direction, and an axial region extending about the center axis. Conductive scattering elements are arranged on the first surface, the second surface or both the first surface and the second surface. The conductive scattering elements are configured to change a first phase of the electromagnetic waves passing through the plurality of conductive scattering elements with respect to a second phase of the electromagnetic waves passing through the axial region.

  • Patent number: 8217848
Abstract: RET antenna with motor and clutch assembly that is operative to mechanically disengage the DC motor and drive unit (also called the gear-motor unit) from the phase shifter adjustment shaft during a manual tilt operation. Disengaging the gear-motor unit removes the drag of the motor and the high gear ratio gear box from the phase shifter control rod making it easier to manually turn the phase shifter control knob. In addition, the clutch disengages the gear-motor without disengaging the position detector from the phase shifter control rod so that position calibration is not lost during manual tilt adjustment. When the manual tilt operation is completed, the mechanical tilt clutch enables the gear-motor unit to be reliably re-engaged with the phase shifter control rod for motorized electrical tilt operation without having to re-calibrate the position detector.

  • Patent number: 8195257
Abstract: The invention relates to a case assembly for antenna amplifying system, an antenna amplifying system and a mast antenna incorporating such a system. According to the invention, the case assembly for antenna amplifying system having a general shape elongated along a longitudinal axis (34) comprises a control module (16) and two amplifying modules (9a, 9b) aligned therewith along the longitudinal axis (34), the control module (16) and both amplifying modules (9a, 9b) each comprising two longitudinal lateral walls (11a, 11b, 11c, 12a, 12b, 12c), an upper surface (36a, 36b, 36c) and a lower surface (37a, 37b, 37c) and having a small thickness.

  • Patent number: 8027703
Abstract: RET antenna with a modular switching unit and a multi-device control unit con figured to be inserted into and removed from a receptacle in the antenna. The multi-device control unit works together with motors and position sensors located inside the antenna to allow a single controller located in the multi-device control unit to control multiple embedded electro-mechanical actuators, such as phase shifter control motors. The multi-device control unit includes lightning protection circuits, communications circuits, a motor controller, power control circuits and a motor position sensing circuit inside a small housing. These components are shared between all motors inside the antenna through the modular switching unit, which allows a single set of components within the multi-device control unit to replace redundant components deployed in prior RET antennas.
