  • Publication number: 20240408502
Abstract: A round ride system includes a center wheel, a first drive system configured to drive rotation of the center wheel, and multiple spokes coupled to the center wheel. The round ride system also includes multiple ride vehicles, wherein each ride vehicle of the multiple ride vehicles is coupled to a respective spoke of the multiple spokes. The round ride system further includes a second drive system configured to independently drive each spoke of the multiple spokes in a circumferential direction relative to the center wheel to adjust respective angles defined between respective pairs of adjacent spokes of the multiple spokes.

  • Publication number: 20240359108
Abstract: A ride system includes a track, a ride vehicle assembly, a coupling, and an actuation assembly. The ride vehicle assembly includes a first ride vehicle configured to move along the track and a second ride vehicle configured to move along the track. The coupling is configured to block a decoupling of the first ride vehicle from the second ride vehicle in response to the ride vehicle assembly being in a first interval of the track. The actuation assembly may be configured to actuate the coupling to cause a decoupling of the first ride vehicle from the second ride vehicle in response to the ride vehicle assembly being in a second interval of the track, different than the first interval.

  • Publication number: 20240189734
Abstract: A reactive show action equipment system is disclosed, including show action equipment having one or more actuators and a special effects system coupled to the show action equipment. The special effects system includes an effects source and an effect emitter configured to expel a substance from the effects source to provide a special effect. The reactive show action equipment system also includes a sensor configured to detect a characteristic of the special effect or a characteristic impactful to the special effect and transmit data indicative of the characteristic. A control system is configured to receive the data indicative of the characteristic and instruct the one or more actuators based on the data indicative of the characteristic. In some embodiments, one or more components of the special effects system may be onboard the show action equipment.

  • Publication number: 20230009457
Abstract: A ride system includes a ride vehicle and an external sensor assembly disposed along a ride path and configured to measure external parameters. The ride vehicle includes an internal sensor assembly configured to measure internal parameters, a chassis, a cabin, and a motion base disposed between the chassis and the cabin, such that the motion base includes a turntable and a plurality of actuators. The ride vehicle also includes a controller that instructs (i) the turntable to rotate and (ii) the plurality of actuators to rotate, extend, or retract, to control six or more degree-of-freedom (DOF) motion of the cabin relative to the chassis, such that the controller is configured to instruct the turntable and the plurality of actuators based on the external parameters, the internal parameters, or both.
