    Abstract: A system for implanting a repair device onto a native valve of a natural heart to repairing the native valve of a patient during a non-open-heart procedure. The system includes a surgical delivery instrument, a valve repair device, and a gripper control mechanism. The surgical delivery instrument has at least one lumen. The valve repair device is configured to be delivered through the lumen of the surgical delivery instrument and to be attached to a native valve of a patient. The valve repair device has a pair of paddles, and first and second gripping members. The paddles are movable between an open position and a closed position. The paddles and the first and second gripping members are configured to attach to the native valve of the patient. The gripper control mechanisms each include a suture and a wire having a loop at a distal end. The suture extends from the surgical delivery instrument and through the loop of the wire. The suture is removably attached to the gripping member.

The pair of paddles each include an inner paddle portion and an outer paddle portion that are movable between an open position, a closed position, and a bailout position. The cap is connected to the pair of paddles. The shaft extends through the collar and the coaption element and is connected to the cap. Movement of the cap by the shaft causes the inner paddle portions and the outer paddle portions of the pair of paddles to move between the open position, the closed position, and the bailout position. When the paddles are in the bailout position, a bailout angle between each inner paddle portion and the shaft is greater than or equal to 120 degrees.

    Abstract: A hybrid rocket engine is described that achieves stable, highly efficient hybrid combustion by having a core flow of fuel-rich gas generator gases, with the flow being surrounded with an annular injection of oxidizer. The fuel-rich gas serves to vaporize and decompose the oxidizer, such as nitrous oxide, and prepare it for effective, stable combustion. In one embodiment, this is done at the head-end of a combustion chamber. The combustion products can then be expanded through a nozzle to create thrust. The engine can be an upper stage engine that can include modular thrust chambers and an integrated aerospike nozzle. The thrust chambers can be arranged in an array that rings the top of the aerospike nozzle.

    Abstract: The disclosure provides a method of generating modified T cells from engineered stem cells for use in an autologous or allogeneic setting for engineered immunotherapy. The knockout of endogenous TCR or HLA expression allows for engineering of modified pluripotent stem cells that reduce or eliminate the risk of Graft versus Host Disease (GVHD), provide resistance to elimination by a recipient's T cells and NK cells, and allow for controllable T cell activity. Thus, this method allows the development of T cells with reduced immune reactivity.
