  • Patent number: 11182514
Abstract: Systems, computer-implemented methods and/or computer program products that facilitate selecting components for aviation engines. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises: calculating, by a system operatively coupled to a processor, standard deviation between components for aviation engines based on a statistical distribution of measured manufacturing characteristics; selecting, by the system, a subset of components based on the calculated standard deviation; and analyzing, by the system, the subset of components at respective standard deviation to determine a standard deviation and period of time for trading that maximizes durability performance.

Date of Patent: November 23, 2021
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Brendan Michael Freely, Kevin Klasing, Eric Ruggiero, Daniel Endecott Osgood
  • Publication number: 20190279439
Abstract: Systems, computer-implemented methods and/or computer program products that facilitate capturing aircraft flight segment are provided. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method comprises: respectively providing, by a mobile computing device comprising a processor, data sets, wherein the data sets include operation, location, altitude, speed, orientation, vibration data and noise data of an aircraft; classifying, by the mobile computing device, the data sets into current flight segment, state of aircraft engine and type of engine; and generating, by the mobile computing device, a visualization regarding the current flight segment, the state of aircraft engine and the type of engine.

  • Publication number: 20130106061
Abstract: A hydrodynamic sealing system for use in an oxidizing environment includes a rotor and a sealing stator. The stator includes a solid lubricant or a surface treatment and the rotor is hardened or the stator is hardened and the rotor includes the solid lubricant or the surface treatment. The stator is located proximate to the rotor to provide a seal. The stator and the rotor are robust at extreme temperatures above 700 degrees Fahrenheit (F) such that at least one of the stator and the rotor have a wear rate and a surface roughness sufficient to maintain an operating gap between the stator and rotor.
