  • Publication number: 20210286838
Abstract: A system for providing media content to an occupant of a vehicle may include a user interface configured to provide the media content to the occupant and a controller coupled to the user interface and to a database configured to store media content. The controller may be configured to receive vehicle navigation data, select a subset of media content from the media content stored in the database based on the vehicle navigation data, and provide the subset of media content through the user interface.

  • Patent number: 10887127
Abstract: Systems and methods for communication between a vehicle system and a secure communication bus are disclosed. Systems can include a microcontroller and a transceiver configured to send transmit data to the communication bus, receive data from the communication bus, and send data received from the communication bus to the microcontroller. The microcontroller may be prevented from transmitting data to the transceiver by hardware separation between an output of the microcontroller and the transmit data input of the transceiver. The communication bus may be a CAN bus.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 10112581
Abstract: A remote control system for a vehicle may include a transponder configured to communicate with a mobile device, and a controller comprising a processing unit. The processing unit may be configured to: receive a control request to perform a vehicle function from the mobile device; receive an authentication signal from the mobile device, the authentication signal being generated by the transponder; and perform the vehicle function based on the authentication signal.

  • Publication number: 20170150361
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure can provide for secure communication in a vehicle network by distinguishing among communications at different layers of the vehicle network and using different security levels depending on the network layer. For example, a communication between different electronic control units (ECUs) in the same domain (e.g., two ECUs in the powertrain domain) may not need as much as security as a communication that originates from an ECU in a different domain (e.g., the chassis domain) or from a device outside the vehicle. This can allow for increased security where compromise is a greater possibility, such as when communications originate from outside the vehicle, and decreased security where comprise is a lesser possibility and performance is a greater concern, such as communications between ECUs within the vehicle and/or in the same domain.
