Abstract: A property investment instrument for investing in a property includes at least one contractual agreement between a first entity and a second entity to share in the property, the property having a plurality of investment components including a credit investment component and at least one of a capital investment component, knowledge investment component, time investment component, and labor investment component where the second entity can provide only the credit investment component and the first entity can provide at least one of the remaining investment components.

Abstract: When a request having a keyword is received, a domain name having the keyword can be generated and a network resource corresponding to the domain name can be requested wherein the network resource is adapted to extract the keyword from the domain name. In turn, when a request having a first domain name is received, a second domain name having the first domain name can be generated and a network resource corresponding to the second domain name can be requested wherein the network resource is adapted to extract the first domain name from the second domain name.

Abstract: The present invention describes IV regulators that allow interruption of normal controlled-flow for a safe and convenient bolus flush, either for a specific period of time or for a specific volume of saline flush. Two time-controlled IV regulators are shown, one employing a pneumatic cylinder counter-opposed by elastic band(s) for administering a bolus flush, and one employing a compressible lever and torsion spring counter-opposed by a rotary damper. In both cases the mechanisms disengage the roller-clamp from the IV tube for a predetermined amount of time to fully open fluid flow there through for a bolus flush before return to the regulated-flow position. The volume-controlled flow regulator employs two internal bladders and allows one bladder to fill while the other bladder drains (and vice versa) by flipping a slider paddle-type toggle, thus enabling the administration of a set volume of flush fluid.

Abstract: When a one or more identifiers and a plurality of data request types is received, a first data request from the one or more identifiers and from a first data request type can be generated and performed. When at least one first result from the first data request can be received, a second data request from the one or more identifiers and from a second data request type can be generated and performed at any time after receiving the one or more identifiers and the plurality of data request types, and then the at least one second result from the second data request can be retrieved either one of a before, during, and after the at least one first result from the first data request is presented. The correspondence between identifiers and request types may be one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, or many-to-many relationship. A response type may employ a plurality of response methods to access multiple network resources corresponding to any generated and/or selected identifiers and/or request types.

Abstract: The present invention detects indicia, identifiers, or partial URLs to mark up in real time from input sources such as that of radio, television, cable, and other sources that have a digital, analog or digital/analog signal where text can be decoded from. A device receives a broadcast and decodes text data from the broadcast signal. The data is stored and words are parsed from the stored data. The words may be matched against a table of identifiers or rules to determine whether indicia have been detected. If not and it is determined that there is more data, then the next word may be parsed from the stored data. If an identifier or the like has been detected then it may be determined whether the word is a phone number. When the word is a phone number, the number is stored in a phone cache to speed-dial, auto-dial, generate a hyperdial link, or update a phone book.

Abstract: In a communication network having at least one communication link connecting at least one provider and a client, where the at least one provider is in communication with at least one database storing at least one identifier having variable ownership status, a method includes establishing that at least one identifier of significance to the client is unavailable for ownership by the client, communicating to the at least one provider at least one desired action the at least one provider is to take on behalf of the client to obtain an ownership interest in the at least one identifier of significance to the client, where the at least one identifier of significance to the client is unavailable for ownership by the client at the time of the communication, and determining whether to perform the at least one desired action without monitoring the ownership status of the at least one identifier of significance to the client.

Abstract: A device, such as a catheter, for intraluminally delivering a distensible stent includes a first elongate tubular member having a proximal end and a distal end; a band circumferentially disposed over at least a circumferential portion of the first tubular member at the proximal end, the band having at least one projection for releasably engaging a portion of a radially distensible stent; and a second elongate tubular member slidably disposed over the first tubular member and the band. Desirably, the at least one projection is a low-profile, lobate-projection. shaped projection. The band may include two opposed projections, where the two opposed projections may be circumferentially disposed at about 180° from one and the other. Desirably, the band includes a metal, for example, stainless steel.

Abstract: A WHOIS record of a domain name is retrieved at a first time, the WHOIS record including an expiry date of a second time, a time difference value can be calculated between the first time and the second time, and the time difference value provided to a user. Time difference value can be determined to satisfy at least one condition including a threshold value. An indication can be provided to the user that the at least one condition has been satisfied such as notifying the user of domain name expiration status, storing the domain name in a user expiration watch list, monitoring the domain name for expiration upon or after the second time, and attempting to register the domain name with a selected domain name registration provider after the second time or upon determining that either the domain name may soon be available for registration or available for registration.

Abstract: A mechanism for performing remote direct memory access (RDMA) operations between a first server and a second server. The apparatus includes a packet parser and a protocol engine. The packet parser processes a TCP segment within an arriving network frame, where the packet parser performs one or more speculative CRC checks according to an upper layer protocol (ULP), and where the one or more speculative CRC checks are performed concurrent with arrival of the network frame. The protocol engine is coupled to the packet parser. The protocol engine receives results of the one or more speculative CRC checks, and selectively employs the results for validation of a framed protocol data unit (FPDU) according to the ULP.

Rather than displaying an error message or processing a search request in response to determining that a network resource can not be accessed, the domain name can instead be redirected to a registration service where the domain name can be automatically used to perform a registration request and determine domain name availability. For instance, the highest level domain (HLD) of a domain name that is determined not resolvable is called a top level domain alias (TLDA) and such a domain name is a FDN having a TLDA. Rather than displaying an error message upon determining that a domain name is (fictitious) a FDN, instead a URL having a resolvable domain name can be generated. Content if any, may then be located, presented, displayed, notified, and/or accessed accordingly. For example, the autosearch feature of a web browser can be enabled to provide further resolution processing by generating and/or resolving a resolvable domain name upon detecting a FDN from a received domain name.

Abstract: At a first time, an authorized directive is received by the utility provider to perform an operative action for shedding load of a power system by a minimum system load value on or before a second time. The utility provider may operate the SCADA/DCS system to assist in selecting a set of circuits wherein the total circuit load value of the selection is greater than or equal to the minimum system load value. In response to circuit selection, the SCADA/DCS system selects the corresponding set of circuit breakers and consults the circuit-subscriber notification database to select a set of subscribers corresponding to the selected set of circuits. A system, product, and/or device adapted for communicating data in response to circuit selection may then be accessed by the SCADA/DCS system to communicate to the selected set of subscribers an intention of performing the operative action on or before the second time.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for adjusting the orientation of a lubricant-retaining basin is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cabinet configured for retaining a vacuum pump and a lubricant-retaining basin. A rotatable member engages the lubricant-retaining basin and elevates the back end of the basin to permit drainage of lubricant from the front end of the basin.

Abstract: An cabinet for retaining a vacuum pump. The cabinet includes, in certain embodiments, removable access panels that allow access to the interior of the cabinet and to a vacuum pump placed within the cabinet. In certain embodiments the cabinet includes a top surface and at least one side surface. Portions of these top and side surfaces are removable from the cabinet to allow access to a vacuum pump that can be placed within the cabinet.
