Publication number: 20240094741Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and apparatus for automated following behind a lead vehicle. The lead vehicle navigates a path from a starting point to a destination. The lead vehicle and the following vehicle are connected via V2V communication, allowing one or more following vehicles to detect the path taken by the lead vehicle. A computerized control system on the following vehicle (a Follow-the-Leader, or FTL, system) allows the following vehicle to mimic the behavior of the lead vehicle, with the FTL system controlling steering to guide the following vehicle along the path previously navigated by the lead vehicle. In some embodiments, the lead vehicle and following vehicle may both use Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) position coordinates. In some embodiments, the following vehicle may also have a system of sensors to maintain a gap between the following and lead vehicles.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Peloton Technology, Inc.Inventors: Shad Laws, Joshua Switkes, Art Gavrysh, Marc Tange, Mark Herbert, Colleen Twitty, Dean Hogle, Andrew Tamoney, Eric Monsler, Carlos Rosario, Oliver Bayley, Richard Pallo, Louis Donayre, Laurenz Laubinger, Brian Smartt, Joyce Tam, Brian Silverman, Tabitha Jarvis, Murad Bharwani, Steven Erlein, Austin Schuh, Mark Luckevich

Patent number: 11436265Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for implementing a digital personal assistant. The digital personal assistant determining that a user has initiated a user experience with it. In response, the digital personal assistant collects information concerning the user's sensibilities about content and a current context in which the digital personal assistant is being used. With that information, the digital personal assistant infers facets of the user's sensibilities and deduces a context of use. With those inferences and that deduction, the digital personal assistant evaluates whether the presentation of responsive content should be modified to better comport with the user's sensibilities and to be more appropriate for the context of use. Additionally, in response to determining a user's need for content, the digital personal assistant can use the inference and deduction to supply suggested content to the user.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2017Date of Patent: September 6, 2022Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Neal Osotio, YoungSun Park, Brook Durant, Eric Schuh, Bradford Singley, Eun Joo Lee

Patent number: 11203113Abstract: A segmented bending system includes multiple linkages coupled to one another in a stacked arrangement. The segmented bending system also includes multiple rotation assemblies coupled to one another to extend through the multiple linkages. The multiple rotation assemblies include multiple cam members, and each cam member of the multiple members extends into a respective opening formed in a corresponding linkage of the multiple linkages. At least one cam member of the multiple cam members is offset from at least one other cam member of the multiple cam members in a circumferential direction about a center axis of the multiple rotation assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2021Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: Universal City Studios LLCInventors: Terry Orion Sandin, Jonathan Harris Sangel, Eli Joseph Romaire, Eric Schuh, David Gerard Majdali

Patent number: 10402647Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe surfacing of contextual suggestions for image content within an applications/service, a non-limiting example of which is a camera application. Image content is captured through a camera application executing on a computing device. A determination of user intent is generated based on an analysis of a result of execution of image recognition processing on the image content and a result of an analysis of context for data associated with the image content. As an example, processing operations related to determining user intent may be executed by an intelligent personal assistant service that is executing on the computing device. One or more contextual suggestions for the image content are generated based on the determination of the user intent. The contextual suggestions for the image content are surfaced, for example, within the camera application or an accessory device connected with the computing device, among other examples.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2017Date of Patent: September 3, 2019Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventor: Eric Schuh
