  • Patent number: 9905608
Abstract: In electron multiplying charge coupled device (EMCCD) image sensors, electron traps in the dielectric stack underneath charge multiplication electrodes may cause undesirable gain ageing. To reduce the gain ageing drift effect, a dielectric stack may be formed that does not include electron traps in regions underneath charge multiplication electrodes. To accomplish this, silicon nitride in the dielectric stack may be removed in regions underneath the charge multiplication electrodes. The EMCCD image sensors can thus be fabricated with a stable charge carrier multiplication gain during their operational lifetime.

  • Patent number: 9685482
Abstract: A charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor is provided. The CCD image sensor may include an array of photosensors that transfer charge to multiple vertical CCD shift registers, which then in turn transfer the charge to a horizontal CCD shift register. The horizontal CCD shift register then feeds an output buffer circuit. The output buffer circuit can include a load transistor implemented using a buried-channel drain (BCD) structure. The load transistor may include a gate conductor, a source diffusion region, a drain diffusion region, and a buried-channel drain region that at least partially extends under the gate conductor. The BCD region may be formed before or after the formation of the gate conductor. If desired, the BCD region can also be formed at the source edge. An image sensor configured in this way can exhibit higher source-drain breakdown voltages, enhanced amplifier gain, and reduced amplifier glow.

  • Patent number: 7793751
Abstract: An all terrain vehicle includes a frame and a control assembly that can be directly or indirectly attached to the frame. The control assembly includes a control knob which can be readily accessible to an operator during operation of the all terrain vehicle. The control knob has a rotational axis that can be substantially parallel to the rotational axis of a driven wheel of the all terrain vehicle. The control assembly can be connected with a cable to a transmission of the all terrain vehicle such that the control knob can be rotatable to disable a reverse inhibitor system of the transmission. The control assembly can further include a shaft having a first stop and a base having a second stop, such that the first and second stops can be configured to selectively contact each other during rotation of the control knob.

  • Publication number: 20060000190
Abstract: An apparatus and method for packaging sheet material. The apparatus comprises a housing, a first forming guide, and a banding unit. The housing defines a cylindrical cavity which is open at both ends and includes a longitudinal opening which intersects the cylindrical cavity. The first forming guide is affixed to the housing adjacent the longitudinal opening and extends into the cylindrical cavity. The banding unit is disposed adjacent the downstream end of the cylindrical cavity. The method comprises imparting a U-shaped form upon a stack of sheet material by insertion of the stack into the upstream end of a cylindrical cavity. The U-shaped stack of sheet material is then moved toward and out of the downstream end of the cylindrical cavity. Finally, the U-shaped stack is banded as the stack emerges from the cylindrical cavity.
