  • Publication number: 20260041310
Abstract: Medical devices with articulation members are described, including a medical device that includes a shaft defining a working channel extending from a proximal end to a distal portion of the shaft. The distal portion of the shaft includes an articulation member comprising a plurality of segments radially outward of the working channel. Each segment may have an arc-shaped cross-section and define at least one aperture, e.g., aligned with the aperture(s) an adjacent segment for receiving a steering wire therethrough. Each segment is pivotable relative to the adjacent segment. The articulation member also includes a rib extending along a longitudinal axis of the shaft and coupled to, or integral with, each segment of the plurality of segments. The rib extends radially outward from the plurality of segments in a direction away from the working channel.

  • Publication number: 20250387011
Abstract: Medical devices and systems having a micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) assembly are described herein. The medical device may include a shaft extending to a distal end and a pressure sensor assembly incorporated into the shaft. The pressure sensor assembly may include a housing, a MEMS chip, and a material. The housing may define a chamber and include a first body coupled to a second body, e.g., the first body defining at least one opening in fluid communication with the chamber. The MEMS chip may include a diaphragm. The material may at least partially cover the diaphragm and have an elasticity or viscosity that permits transfer of force therethrough. The pressure sensor assembly may be configured to measure pressure external to the medical device.

  • Publication number: 20250082385
Abstract: In an embodiment, a cryoablation system includes a pre-cooler gas circuit, a working gas circuit isolated from the pre-cooler gas circuit, and a vacuum chamber isolated from the pre-cooler gas circuit and the working gas circuit. The cryoablation system can include a shaft having an insulated zone and a working gas expansion chamber distal to the insulated zone. The cryoablation system can further include a handle and a shaft-handle connector, wherein a proximal end of the shaft connects to the shaft-handle connector, wherein the shaft-handle connector is configured to removably attach the proximal end of the shaft to a distal end of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20240424254
Abstract: In an embodiment, a cryoablation shaft is included having a working fluid circuit; a vacuum circuit; an insulated portion, wherein the vacuum circuit runs through the insulated portion; and an expansion chamber; a supply tube having a distal outlet in the expansion chamber, wherein fluid from the working fluid circuit travels distally down the cryoablation shaft through supply tube and expands in the expansion chamber; and a guidewire lumen including a metallic tube and a polymer sleeve configured to surround at least a portion of the metallic tube.

  • Publication number: 20240423688
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a cryoablation probe including a pre-cooler fluid circuit; a working fluid circuit; a vacuum circuit; and a shaft. The shaft includes a supply tube and a return tube surrounding the supply tube. The return tube includes a first polymer layer, wherein the first polymer layer is configured to contain fluid from the working fluid circuit; a reinforcement layer, and a second polymer layer. Other embodiments are also included herein.

  • Publication number: 20090326889
Abstract: A multi-axis fatigue testing device includes a multi-axis test fixture having a multiple input, multiple output mechanical linkage driven by a plurality of actuators and a controller operating each of the plurality of actuators in real time and in synchronization to produce user-defined multiple fatigue cycle profiles. At least one of the actuators driving the mechanical linkage acts against an artificial load characterized by a stiffness. The stiffness is selected to increase a resonance frequency of the test fixture to allow fatigue testing at higher frequencies for a wider range of samples.
