  • Patent number: 10061507
Abstract: An electronic device with a touch screen display is provided. Content in a user interface is displayed at a first magnification, and in response to detecting a first multi-finger gesture on the touch screen display (e.g., a three-finger tap gesture), a first portion of the content is magnified to a second magnification, greater than the first magnification. Further, while displaying the first portion of the content in the user interface at the second magnification, the device may detect a second multi-finger gesture on the touch screen display (e.g., movement of a three-finger contact on the display). In response to this movement, the device performs panning the user interface, so that a second portion of the content, different from the first portion, is displayed on the touch screen at the second magnification.

  • Publication number: 20180220703
Abstract: A package that may be employed to store a tobacco-containing material is provided. The package may include a container and a valve assembly. The container may include a body portion and a cover configured to engage the body portion. The body portion may define an internal space therein. The valve assembly may be configured to affect an atmosphere within the internal space of the container. For example, the valve assembly may remain closed except when releasing pressure from the internal space. Thereby, by way of further example, the valve assembly may vent the container so as to avoid damage thereto, while reducing moisture loss from the tobacco-containing material stored in the internal space.

  • Publication number: 20180224142
Abstract: A system for customizing an HVAC system for operation at a specific site requires defining a benchmark which is based on environmental data taken from the site, and on operational data taken from the HVAC system at the site. For the present invention, this benchmark establishes limits for acceptable environmental conditions at the site and appropriate ranges for cost-effective, operational parameters for the HVAC system. In particular, changes in the operational condition of the HVAC system which result from changes in the environmental condition at the site are evaluated relative to the benchmark. This evaluation is then used by a system controller to identify corrective actions necessary for optimal performance of the HVAC system.

  • Publication number: 20180111078
Abstract: A control unit is provided for monitoring the efficacy of an air filter in the ducting of an operating HVAC system. Specifically, the control unit monitors airflow velocity in the ducting to evaluate and control the power requirements that are necessary for the HVAC system to maintain a constant airflow velocity in the ducting of the system. In accordance with the present invention, the power requirements are measured and evaluated during the duty cycle of an air filter, to thereby determine when the air filter needs to be removed or replaced.

  • Publication number: 20180111077
Abstract: An air filter system in accordance with the present invention includes a filter housing that defines an airflow channel. A supply roll of a filter medium, and a take-up roll for receiving the filter medium from the supply roll are positioned parallel to each other in the airflow channel. A plurality of wire mesh diverter-screens are positioned between the supply roll and the take-up roll to establish a tortuous path for statically positioning the filter medium across the airflow channel. Periodically, the take-up roll can be rotated to draw replacement filter medium into position on the tortuous path.
