  • Publication number: 20190289061
Abstract: A scheduling system for scheduling executions of tasks within a distributed computing system may include a file transfer manager configured to determine a file for transfer from a source location to a target location, the file being associated with file metadata characterizing the file, and with an organization. The file transfer manager may include an orchestrator configured to determine at least two transfer paths for the transfer, including at least a first transfer path utilizing a private wide area network (WAN) of the organization and a second transfer path utilizing a publicly available data hosting service, access transfer metadata characterizing the at least two transfer paths, and access organizational metadata characterizing organizational transfer path usage factors.

The file transfer manager also may include a heuristics engine configured to execute path decision logic using the file metadata, the transfer metadata, and the organizational metadata, to select a selected transfer path from the at least two transfer paths.

  • Patent number: 9605647
Abstract: A blade for a runner of a Francis turbine having a throat diameter (Dth), the blade including: a maximum thickness of no less than 0.03 Dth and a leading edge having a maximum lean angle of no less than 45 degrees, wherein the lean angle is defined by a vertical line and the leading edge.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 7470112
Abstract: A split runner for a Francis turbine has runner segments that are adapted to be joined together along confronting surface portions thereof to form a composite runner having a crown, a band and a plurality of blades extending between the crown and the band. The confronting surface portions of the runner segments are located only along portions of the crown and portions of the band, and the confronting surface portions of the runner segments are located in between and spaced from adjacent blades of the composite runner. Since the confronting surface portions are located only along portions of the crown and portions of the band, none of the blades are split eliminating the need to weld together blades during formation of the composite runner. Accordingly, the composite runner does not have weld joints formed in the blades which are highly stressed operating parts of the runner.

    Assignee: General Electric Canada
