    Abstract: A shroud retention system has a boss attached to a work tool and a retention block attached to the boss. The shroud retention system has a plunger block connected to and slidably movable relative to the retention block. The boss, the retention block, and the plunger block are slidably receivable in a shroud including a retainer slot. The shroud retention system has a retainer plate disposed in the retainer slot and configured to engage with the plunger block. The shroud retention system has a shim with a shim front face engaging the retention block and a shim rear face engaging a shroud inner wall. The shroud retention system has a retention fastener that passes through a thru hole in each of the plunger block, the retainer plate, and the shim and engages with a lock nut in the retention block to attach the shroud to the work tool.

The retention component assembly may have a retention nut for insertion into a cavity in the work tool through the opening. The retention nut may have a cylindrical body including an inner surface delimiting a thru-hole in the retention nut. The retention nut may also have a plurality of wings extending laterally from the cylindrical body. Each of the wings may have an angled outer surface that engages with a corresponding surface of the work tool. The retention component assembly may also have a shim to secure the retention nut within the cavity of the work tool. Further, the retention component assembly may have a fastener that engages with the inner surface of the retention nut to secure the work tool to the base.

The connection segment may have a plurality of protrusions extending into the cavity and evenly distributed along a circumference of the cavity. Further, the connection segment may have a shelf forming a lower end of the cavity. The cavity may receive at least one component of the retention component assembly through the opening in the top surface and may seat the at least one component on the shelf at the lower end of the cavity.

The wear cap can be installed and retained solely by way of engagement with the rails on a bucket lip and interlocks with an adjacent coupler.

The main retainer may have a retainer body, a non-circular thru hole extending along a central axis, and a male thread around an outer surface of the main retainer. The male thread may engage a female thread in a transverse thru hole in the tip. The center pin may have a profile matching that of the non-circular thru hole of the main retainer. The non-circular thru hole of the main retainer may align with a non-circular blind hole in the adapter when in its fully engaged position. The center pin may be inserted into the non-circular thru hole of the main retainer with a distal end of the center pin positioned in the non-circular blind hole in the adapter.
