Abstract: Systems and methods for providing access to instant messaging services are described in this application. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, of receiving a request to access an instant messaging service from a mobile device through a first network protocol, the instant messaging service to be accessed via an Internet protocol. One embodiment can include, establishing a connection between the mobile device and a server of the instant messaging service via the Internet protocol through a gateway, and/or routing the message to the gateway to be forwarded to the server of the instant messaging service via the Internet protocol, the gateway to convert the message initiated from the mobile device from the first network protocol to the Internet protocol.
