  • Patent number: 7673327
Abstract: Machine, method for use and method for making, and corresponding products produced thereby, as well as data structures, computer-readable media tangibly embodying program instructions, manufactures, and necessary intermediates of the foregoing, each pertaining to digital aspects of a computerized aggregation system. The system can include a user computer system interposed between a segment of a network allowing communication between the user computer system and at least one server system, and other segments allowing communication between the user computer system and a plurality of third party server systems. The one server system enables the user computer system to access the plurality of other servers. The access permits forming an aggregation of information obtained from the third party server systems.

  • Publication number: 20080288458
Abstract: Described are a method and system for obtaining real-time media content over an Internet Protocol network. A proxy server receives a message from a client device requesting that communications be established with a media server for obtaining a stream of media content. The proxy server sends the client device a redirection message in reply to the client device if the requested media content is available from a local replication point. The redirection message instructs the client device to communicate with the local replication point to obtain the stream of media content.

  • Publication number: 20080013493
Abstract: A mobility signaling method and apparatus are disclosed. Mobility signaling is performed by, first, generating a mobility signaling message (300, 302) at a mobile node (100) to be sent to a correspondent node (112). Next, either direct signaling or indirect signaling is selected as a signaling mechanism for the mobility signaling message (300, 302) based on a cell residence heuristic. The mobility signaling message (300, 302) is then sent to the correspondent node using the selected signaling mechanism for the mobility signaling message (300, 302).

  • Patent number: 7212787
Abstract: A wireless audio transmission and reception system includes a pulse width amplifier, an up-converter, a transmitter, a receiver, a down-converter, an integrator, and a power amplifier to transfer an analog signal to a transducer such as a speaker. The pulse width amplifier receives an analog signal and modulates a pulse width of a timing signal with the analog signal. The pulse width of the timing signal is modulated such that the pulse width is proportional to the amplitude of the analog signal, and provides a pulse width modulated signal. The up-converter is in communication with the pulse width amplifier to receive the pulse width modulated signal and convert the pulse width modulated signal to a modulated carrier signal. The transmitter in communication with the up-converter to receive the modulated carrier signal and to transfer the modulated carrier signal wirelessly.

  • Publication number: 20060213610
Abstract: The method for applying a cast finish to a printed substrate is a method for applying aesthetically pleasing coatings and finishes, including embossed, gloss and holographic finishes and images, to flexible printed substrates, such as packaging, posters, etc. The method involves sealing the ink on a printed surface of the printed substrate with a coating, laminating a film onto the printed surface of the printed substrate, curing the printed surface of the printed substrate with ultraviolet lighting, removing the transparent film from the printed surface of the printed substrate, and moving the printed substrate to a stacking unit. A machine for carrying out the process includes a coating unit, a laminating unit, a film handling unit, a series of ultraviolet lights for curing the coating, a stacking unit for retaining the coated substrates, and a series of belts and rollers for moving the substrates through the machine.

  • Publication number: 20040080327
Abstract: A measurement circuit and a corresponding method for a three poles monolithic quartz crystal filter. With the first and the second switch connected respectively to the first and the third pole, any terminal electrode of the filter (the second not included) is not only electrically coupled with the impedance matching circuits, but also electrically coupled with the terminal impeders or the measuring instruments according to the status of the switches. Therefore, by controlling the switches, Fo and BW of the filter could be acquired by the measuring instruments. Moreover, applying the conventional two-pole short-circuits bandwidth theorem, A-sym of the filter could also be acquired by separating the 3-poles filter into two 2-poles filter.

  • Patent number: 6094709
Abstract: A method of reducing false sharing in a shared memory system by enabling two caches to modify the same line at the same time. More specifically, with this invention a lock associated with a segment of shared memory is acquired, where the segment will then be used exclusively by processor of the shared memory system that has acquired the lock. For each line of the segment, an invalidation request is sent to a number of caches of the system. When a cache receives the invalidation request, it invalidates each line of the segment that is in the cache. When each line of the segment is invalidated, an invalidation acknowledgement is sent to the global directory. For each line of the segment that has been updated or modified, the update data is written back to main memory. Then, an acquire signal is sent to the requesting processor which then has exclusive use of the segment.

  • Patent number: 5890635
Abstract: A carrying attachment includes a clamping member and a retaining member. The clamping member includes a lug portion with a flat major surface, and left and right jaw arms which extend from the first lug portion and which are of a dimension sufficient for flexing toward each other. Each of the jaw arms includes a clamping segment that defines an inner clamping wall transverse to the flat major surface, and a first outer wall. The inner clamping walls of the clamping segments of the jaw arms are shaped so as to clamp a constricted part of a container therebetween. A hook end portion extends from the clamping segment and defines an inner wall and a second outer wall which are transverse to the flat major surface and which form deflection junctures with the inner clamping wall and the first outer wall. The hook end portion has a snapping protrusion that extends from the second outer wall in a direction opposite to the inner wall.

  • Patent number: 5003293
Abstract: A message spreading apparatus is disclosed to generate an audio message output in response to the presence of a heat radiation generated by body heat. A housing has a front wall provided with an opening therein and a rear wall including a first portion opposed to the opening of the front wall, with the front wall and the rear wall being spaced a predetermined distance from each other. A radiation reflecting member is mounted to the first portion of the rear wall and is configured and arranged so as to reflect a portion of a heat radiation ray entered through the opening of the front wall to a path which is between the front wall and the rear wall and is in a direction substantially parallel to the respective planes of the front and rear walls. A pyroelectric sensor is provided in the path to sense the reflected heat radiation ray and generate an activating signal in response to the reflected heat radiation ray.
