Patent number: 4777634Abstract: A method for the recovery of a plesiochronic data signal is provided, whereby the received sum signal generated upon application of what is referred to as pulse stuffing is divided into a synchronous data signal and into an additional data signal in a demultiplexer. A data bit likewise transmitted in the additional data signal is inserted into the synchronous data signal in a format converter on the basis of stuffing information transmitted in the additional data signal or, respectively, a bit is purged from the synchronous data signal. The stuffing information is composed exclusively of phase words which, in digital form, contain the momentary phase relationship between the sum signal and the plesiochronis data signal. A command evaluation stage forwards control signals to the format converter when the extreme values of the phase words are transgressed, the bits being inserted into the synchronous data signal or, respectively, purged from the synchronous data signal by way of the control signals.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1987Date of Patent: October 11, 1988Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Erich Burger, Martin Mueller, Theodor Schwierz

Patent number: 4489421Abstract: A digital message transmission system has a transmit side wherein two pulse sequences are sampled at the rate of two plesiochronic data clocks and the sampled sequences are expanded by the insertion of additional information in the manner of "positive stuffing." The two pulse sequences including the additional information are transmitted to the receive side in a pulse frame, the procedure being reversed at the proceed side to decode the message. The momentary phase relationship between the two plesiochronic data clocks, in the form of a binary phase word, is inserted as a portion of the additional information. An auxiliary clock signal is derived from a reference data clock signal for use in transforming the phase measurement (difference between a higher and a lower frequency level) into the binary phase word.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1983Date of Patent: December 18, 1984Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Erich Burger

Patent number: 4415255Abstract: An optical copying arrangement, particularly an electrostatic copying arrangement, has a carriage provided with a transparent supporting plate for an original and movable in a substantially horizontal direction, a drive for moving an image carrier onto which an image is to be copied from the original, and a scanning system arranged to scan the original supported on the supporting plate by successive strips and form a copy on the image carrier, wherein the supporting plate has a part which in initial position of the carriage is located prior to a first strip, considered in direction of carriage movement, and is bent downwardly relative to the main part of the supporting plate.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1982Date of Patent: November 15, 1983Assignee: AGFA-Gevaert AGInventors: Hans-Peter Huber, Erich Burger, Horst Bickl

Patent number: 4403849Abstract: An electrostatic copying device comprises a transparent support plate onto which an original to be copied is placed. A slide carrying a recording cylinder provided on its peripheral surface with a photosensitive layer is movable beneath and parallel to the transparent support plate. At least one gear coaxially fixed to the recording cylinder meshes with a rack extending parallel to the path of movement of the slide to rotate the recording cylinder during movement of the slide. The slide carries also a raster objective stepwise scanning the original during movement of the slide to produce a latent image of the original on the photosensitive peripheral surface of the recording cylinder, which picture is transferred to an endless dielectric band forming an intermediate recording carrier and from the latter the picture is transferred to a photosensitive paper sheet fed onto the band along which also a plurality of usual treating stations are arranged for developing the image on the paper sheet.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1981Date of Patent: September 13, 1983Assignee: Agfa-Gevaert AGInventors: Erich Burger, Horst Bickl, Hans-Peter Huber

Patent number: 4236249Abstract: A circuit arrangement is disclosed for correcting frequency errors during a transmission of data by means of data signals which are modulated according to a frequency-differential phase modulation. The circuit arrangement corrects frequency errors which occur during the transmission of the data signals from a data transmitter to a data receiver. The data receiver contains a regulating stage inside which the data signals are converted with the assistance of mixed signals. A repetition frequency of the mixed signals is regulated with the assistance of a first regulating unit performing a fine regulation and a second regulating unit performing a coarse regulation in such a way that frequency errors of the data signals are corrected. A regulator generates the mixed signals from timing pulses of given repetition frequency with the assistance of frequency multipliers.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1978Date of Patent: November 25, 1980Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Erich Burger

Patent number: 3947633Abstract: In a data transmission system which uses frequency-differential phase modulation including a composite signal comprising a plurality of carriers apparatus is described for receiving and demodulating the aforementioned signal. In the receiver the signal, so modulated, is coupled to a plurality of correlators which produce d.c. voltages having values indicative of the phase states of the carriers. Binary words, similarly indicative of the phase states, are derived from the d.c. voltages, and these are stored in consecutive form in binary stores. The differences between the binary words yield the transmitted data. The outputs of the aforementioned correlators are connected to inputs of a time multiplexer which acts to connect outputs of two correlators to two multiplexer outputs. The outputs of the time multiplexer are connected to a phase modulator which produces a phase modulated signal responsive to the time multiplexer output signals.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 1974Date of Patent: March 30, 1976Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Erich Burger

Patent number: 3947777Abstract: Apparatus for demodulating phase modulated signals is described. The latter signals are produced by modulation of a carrier or harmonically related carriers. The modulated signal, constituted by consecutive modulation sections, is coupled to an analogue multiplier, the output of which is connected to an integrator. The integrator produces the demodulated signal. A pulse generator produces a sequence of pulses, each of which occurs within a given modulation section. The duration of each pulse equals the reciprocal of the fundamental frequency. A carrier corresponding in frequency and synchronized with the transmitted carrier is produced in the receiver. The transmitted carrier and receiver-produced carrier are coupled to the multiplier. The latter carrier is switched prior to its application to the multiplier using the output of the pulse generator.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1974Date of Patent: March 30, 1976Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Erich Burger
